All taxes are the bain of humanity. States and local govt's have run amok in terms of establishing revenue sources to pay for pension benefits for retirees.
The only ones who seem remotely secure are the wealthy, top execs and government employees. For the rest of us, we get to pay for those who have already set themselves up.
Sorry, Netflix your content sucks. Your own productions suck, the movies suck because Hollywood hasn't produced anything original in over a decade and now you've decide that politically motivated content is a winner. Fuck that, I can get that free on CNN or MSNBC.
I'm actually liking the fact that SpaceX is delivering a commoditized platform for LEO delivery, they're getting the basics down and delivering. Now if they could just get their landing vids to work at the right moment..
Other than the blanket legal liability they want, why is this an imperative? The states can determine whether or not to allow autonomous vehicles to operate and under what restrictions.
Stop subsidizing multi-million dollar properties being built in flood plains or areas subject to storm surge. You have no way to change the weather and its habits. You could begin mass sterilization of third world countries too if it makes you feel better.
Yes, Walled Gardens were supposed to eliminate this problem. That's what Apple said. They said they can control the quality of the apps and make sure they don't expose sensitive information, obviously their garden has weeds.
Too bad they're in California otherwise we could just use Round-Up to fix it.
It's been falling apart for decades. The only reason it's not getting fixed is that the true costs of mass transit need to be subsidize by people outside of the system, meaning taxpayers from outside NYC.
1) Less filtered. We had journalists and editors. Journalists sought out stories, investigated them and editors reviewed their work. Sure there were biases and still are but now it's about getting first to get it out there quality of source/content be damned. This also precipitates more lazy fuck journalists and so-called editors more anxious to get a story pushed and who gives two fucks about if it's true or not. 2) More entertainment. News was something that happened all the time but you were exposed to it less frequently. Now you have TV shows, Cable Networks and the Internet bombarding you stories that are more infotainment than news. It's hard to distinguish what's important vs. fluffy kittens. This has also led to aggregators who now calls themselves news organizations *cough* Huffington Post *cough* News used to be consumed when you read a newspaper, a magazine or watched the evening news with Cronkite, now it's in your face 24/7 and they have airtime to fill. That's why you have contrived things like "townhall meetings" to discuss whether or not Michelle Obama's opinion actually fucking matters. 3) ADHD of our population. Attention span akin to the life expectancy of gnats. 4) I blame the parents, get off my lawn.
I'm all for making a buck but the use of "benefit" here is a loose term depending on which end of the technology ladder you're on. When it comes to the current philosophy of renewable energy storage there's a little problem. Anybody who doesn't grasp this is kidding themselves.
Who has a better life? A surfer who pays his parents $500 per month to live in their basement, or a billionaire? A serious investigation of all the associated details may sometimes indicate that the surfer has a better life.
Shit, I've been doing it wrong all along?
1) Get Basement and deadbeat Millennials. 2) ??? 3) Profit
Uh, MSFT doesn't really support anybody in the Forums. Sure you'll get an occasional MSFT employee who provides some clues as to why something that they wrote is broken but that's rare. Remember, there *used* to be a lot of QA people and others who provided answers but those folks are long gone. There are other sites that have better information than some point fetish fairy looking to tell you to "refresh your installation." You know the ones I'm talking about, one level above the "IT Crowd." They troll the MSFT Forums giving out the canned answers that have no relative bearing on the question posted just so they can get them thar points.
I find it funny how humanity always tries to put euphemisms and human traits on devices. Humans can be ethical, something that is artificial by its very nature is only as ethical as those who use it. I think Google needs to drop the pretense of them trying to be ethical in this particular project because from reading about it the DoD wants to analyze the effectiveness not only of drone strikes but to analyze reconnaissance footage as well using AI. It sounds like an interesting project but they need to drop the hint that weapon system development is anything but political and there's no ethics in politics.
It's not the technologies, it's the platforms that implement the technologies and the crappy code they represent that create the exposure. But it's easier to just block the technologies.
On a positive note, I guess this shows folks on O365 how easily their TOS can be fucked with.
Oh I'm sure there are already organizations who've signed up but presumably only state/local gov't agencies would have access to the camera networks. That doesn't preclude the use of a few well placed go-pros at protests that could also serve as a data source as well.

You didn't mention the BGP attacks they've been conducting lately. They're a bad actor in terms of Internet trust and it's time to cut them off.
Meanwhile people are lining and throwing down big cash up to buy new Macbooks, iPhones and other Appliephile stuff. Film at 11.

Yeah, I'm sorry.

I can see Russia from there.

Even hackers have problems finding good Delphi folks these days.

When you find yourself longing for Shatner's overacting then you know Star Wars is dead. I was was at that point with Phantom Menace.
No, it isn't. Episode V is and I agree with that.
Disney is thoroughly destroying the franchise. Capitalism for the win!
As opposed to CO2 that we produce? Yeah, are we better than a cockroach?
