well, if you had a dump truck full off money pull up to your office I'm sure you'd be on phone to buy some custom plasma screen in about 2 minutes:) Of coarse they don't want to get rid of it, Unreal must rock on those things!! If it was me I would name my main gaming server "Y2K" so when people ask them what they're doing they can report that they are busy "working on y2k." of coarse, they're going to have to think of another good name for their servers. Maybe something generic like "Network_security" or "DDOS". oh wait! depending on who's heading the subcommitte they could rename their servers "working_on_reelecting_democrates" (or republicans). That would buy them a couple years before word leaked out:)
I picked a book on programming python last year almost on a whim and I'm sure glad I did. As a person familar with c programming at the time with no where near a mastery of it I found learning pythong extremely easy and very enjoyable. The thing that I like most about python is the ease at which you can protype a program (quickly) and then convert your python modules over to c if you feel the need for more proformance. After just a skim of the tutorials just about anyone can be pumping out scripts in no time. Python is a combo of ABC, modula-3 and C. The ABC aspect can be seen in the way in which you need to format the program leading to a clean looking/readable code (every time). I recommend the language highly to anyone (not just the technically inclined)
Having the federal government strong arm you, seize your property and take your family members in for questioning is doubtable a horrific event for someone to endure. I'm sure this kind of action makes a lot of people angery like it did me. The question that I asked myself was 'Why does this kind of action make my gut cringe?' The answer really has nothing to do with DeCSS but instead with how easily rights of the individual are violated. To my knowledge Jon Johansen is not a cracker, a hacker maybe, but in it's truest definition. I encourage those of you reading in Norway to write to your representative if you feel that this was inappropiate action to be taken. In my experience the best way to take on a large group of people who are appointed to power is with an even larger group of people who are self-impowered - and it doesn't get any larger than 'the people.' Jon, I wish you luck.

As a joke I'd like to see www.weather.com pop up and start to emit an ozone smell while displaying "Lightning Strike imitate!! Seek Shelter!!!"
