Hmm lets see... Intel bought them to make Larabee demos, but now Larrabee is gone, so Project Offset becomes a vague FUD machine to keep idiot analysis thinking that Intel is "doing the video games thingy too".
My single Android complaint: Why, oh why must it be Java based?
1) Sandboxing in Android actually happens at the Linux process level. Every app run its in own isolated process, with its own instance of the Java VM. You can remove the VM form the picture and it would be just as safe. 2) You cannot build once run everywhere. Its a myth. With J2ME phones, devs test and optimize for every supported handset, and it will be the same for Android. 3) Java *IS* an order of magnitude slower than C/ASM for many things that are important for games, such as matrix math. Google knows this and is trying to work around it with JNI/NDK, but really why the complication?
I guess its too late now, but it makes me very, very sad. (And makes Apple very, very happy)
People must learn to speak to management eye-to-eye.
Say: "I did so and so over the last few months and I believe I've earned my month-long vacation"
Or: "I'll gladly work more than 40 hours a week when necessary - but I do like coming to the office later than most"
You should develop a straight forward, explicit business relationship with your boss. If you act like a kid, you deserve to be treated like one.
Now, if you feel you don't have any leverage to negotiate, it might be time to look for a new job!
I've been using computers for 20 years and have never been infected.
Could someone please explain how exactly does it happen?
Do people click on those "You've won!" pop-ups, then proceed to download and run some executable?
I think the absolute value of their compensation is also a problem.
If you make $500k a year, getting that extra $500k bonus is a pretty big deal. Maybe you can finally buy that yatch, or retire a bit earlier.
But if you made 150 Million last year, does this year's bonus it really matter anymore? What exactly it the "risk" for those people?
Intel's hype wave is powerful indeed.
Nvidia has never claimed that raytracing is *not* the future.
This "new way" vs "old way" crap was entirely fabricated by Intel's hype machine as an attempt to polarize the audience, and the press can't help but the chug down the coolaid.
The fact is that Nvidia has delivered great graphics for over a decade while Intel's *existing* integrated GPUs are still unusable after years of promises.
I am not buying it.
We will be playing 2015's games on an Nvidia (and maybe AMD) GPU.

Because, for whatever reason, females don't do well in Tech. How many female CEOs or VPs do you see at top Tech companies? Not very encouraging.
