That comment hurts, because the connection I am currently in is 1 Mbit/s, and I can't wait to go back home where I have a whooping 2Mbit/s =( (I live in Mexico)
I know that the vast majority of people don't care about it, but I honestly want the PIM finished, if they are going to integrate akonadi with it, then fine, but finish it already...
Other than that, it was about time to make a big release with mostly bug fixes in it, maybe it's me but I don't find it as unstable or as memory hungry as people are claiming here, it was some versions ago, no argument there, but now it's pretty decent, for me, what is left are mostly annoyances, and I have suffer a lot of them, but I keep the faith, I like the way it's going.
The one thing I love about Guild Wars it's not the fact that there is no grinding, because, there is grinding, a lot of grinding, but the fact that the grinding does not affect PvP in any way, neither other add-ons you may buy. As people previously mention, in a pair of weeks you are PvPing, even sooner if you create a PvP character.
I can stop playing Guild Wars for a month, get back online, and join some PvP matches with friends who spend that month playing, and I don't feel like an outcast. Sure, if they were into PvE they may have a new shiny armor/weapon/title, if they were into PvP they may have a shiny new title, but I am by no means underpowered and unable to go have fun with them.
Guild Wars got it right, the fact WoW have more players only means there is a lot of people who loves grinding, but when it comes to competitive playing, Guild Wars so far is the only game that got it right.
1. Give an insane amount of funding to the military at the expense of diving into more and more debt. 2. Pay for 744,000 licences of Windows Vista and 744,000 licences of MS Office 2007 instead of invest in a better solution based on freely available OSS which could be contributed back to the people. 3. ??? 4. Profit! (for MS of course).
I may actually remove step 3 all together, it does looks like the full profit algorithm (for MS of course).
I fail to see how is this news and how is this interesting.
Any jailbroken iPhone has been able to do this ages ago, in fact I was doing some AJAX experiments on the iPhone using vim (which was the only decent editor the iPhone had as I had copy/paste and search/replace) when I was bored.
Btw, I did not buy an iPhone, it was given to me and the truth it's I dislike it, if only it were more open...
There is simply nothing that stops you from grab the CURP from anyone, send the sms and get your phone linked to other person, then you can carry on with whatever illegal activities you plan to do and have the other person blamed.
It is insane, and I asked someone I know that works at Telcel and you can have more than one phone number linked to a single CURP.
Yes, this is supposed to difficult the coordination of illegal groups, such as drug dealers and kidnapers, but I fail to see how will this help unless we would do as the law says, be required to go on a cellphone center and provide our fingerprint.
And, personally, I completely dislike this measure, just for civil disobedience I'll go to somewhere where the CURP it's required, memorize a number of a random person (fortunately I can memorize long numbers easily), and send a sms with that number.
I am officially getting retired this year from the business of making websites/systems for other people, I'll just work on my own stuff using standards, and only use the IE detection scripts for display a message informing users why the site doesn't looks right on their browser, posting links to standard capable browsers.
Well, I am one of the Linux users who has been avoiding ATI as well, mostly due to the horror stories. I have live some myself (thx Atheros wireless), and now I do check how well is the support of the hardware in Linux before make a purchase.
Until now, at least the NVidia drivers works fairly well, so NVidia has been my choice.
But, if ATI is really opening up like this, and NVidia doesn't open up, most likely ATI will be my next graphic card when I get a new comp in the next months.
What a great way to start a day. I know I'm not an American, but the decision of restore Habeas Corpus to Guantanamo detainees are great news for me and I'm sure many people have feel like a heavy weight has been lifted from our hearts.
The fact that the US suspended Habeas Corpus is still something I find hard to believe. US has been a country i used to see with the highest admiration for their freedoms and their common sense, and it saddens me to see when fundamental rights are taken away. And so i feel very glad when they come to their senses and restore them back.
As many people have already pointed, this will not mean Guantanamo detainees will be released, specially in the streets of US, this only means a detainee can challenge their detention in court.
This is what Habeas Corpus is about, the right to ask "why am i detained?", "what are the charges against me?"
I know there may be times in which a nation faces a crisis in which Habeas Corpus may be suspended for the actual self-preservation of the nation, but US is not at risk of be destroy by the "terrorist". I believe (and i apologize to the Americans as a foreign talking about their country, this it's only my personal opinion) that their current government it's more of a risk to their rights and principles than this "terrorist" has ever been.

Advertisement would have us believe that some scents will lure the women out of hiding the way this cologne lure those Jaguars, if only...

then that form of encryption is useless for highly sensitive information.
It's as simple as that.
Well, I live in Mexico City and I'm lucky if I can see the blue sky.
Unless this was posted by the girlfriend

I really don't think so.

Well, lets just hope that NBC never get their hands on Slashdot or we may end up with SlashyDotty :S
