Denatured sugar is currently in surplus because the majority of the sugar we intake is processed into high fructose syrup. Thus, you will not see world food prices increase in such a manner. The current world food price increase ais a bi-product of the production of corn based ethanol. If this system works, we are talking apples and organges in terms of the exiting ethanol production in the U.S.
I don't know why it is so difficult for people to understand, other than the lack of distinction between corn based ethanol and other biofuels.
