  1. I've said this for years.... it's the culture! on How US Schools' Culture Stifles Math Achievement · · Score: 1

I don't know how many people over the last 10 or 15 years --- probably 20'ish --- I have discussed America's math problems with who when I said that culture was the source of the deficiency told me that I was wrong and the problem was the way that we teach math is "dull", "boring", or "not hands on enough" or "not practical and relies on too much memorization". This was especially silly to me considering how American math classes are like Disneyland compared to other countries' curriculum, yet those countries continue to produce excellent math students.

Good comment. From my perspective however, the two real shells are bash and tcsh. I've been using bash for the last year or so simply because I got tired of changing the default shell in modern distros. But I prefer tcsh for scripting because it is much cleaner syntax-wise even if bash has a few more powerful features. I honestly never even heard of the Ash shell. I'll have to check it out but I just learned it doesn't have tab-completion and I love that feature.

This was one of those cases where if you don't know what you are talking about you should have just kept your mouth closed. Whoever marked your comment as interesting also should keep their opinions to themselves.

You are completely correct. But one thing that browsers should not do is create workarounds for bugs on very popular sites that are do to non-standards compliant coding. This is something that is occasionally argued for in bug submissions to bugzilla.mozilla; and is likely what RiotingPacifist was influenced by.
