Hi there. Ubuntu community member here.
We have the "Ubuntu Foundation", which is a trust with 10 Million in it if Canonical folds.
Kthx, have a nice day,
You're not wrong at all, and I agree -- it's just that the source document has to "live" somewhere. If I were to be happy with it, I'd have to be able to create "debian/manual_on_this", then link it to my "ubuntu/" folder. When I add a change that's no longer "debian/" qualified, I should be able to "rm debian/manual_on_this", but have it live in "ubuntu/".
What I'm getting at is that tags let the filesystem ( or database, whatever ) manage the documents and present you with "links", rather then having original documents in the tree. It's like saying that C has pointers like Java (in before Java jokes), ignoring the fact you have to malloc / free.
Perhaps I'm ranting at this point, but I think it'd be a nice way forward:)
Off to implement it in fuse!
What a bunch of dipshits.
Traffic is just a routing / scheduling algorithm, if anything his background in Computer Science should *help* him present his case.
God, what morons. He just did all that work for you, it's not like you won't review it anyway. Suck it up and do a review. It's your *job*.
The stock reading software must display more then one char at a time.
This sounds either like a configuration issue, or a bug in their software.
Thanks for trying this:)
It seems that it sends data to
http://stats.norton.com/n/p?module=xxxx
where xxxx is an integer.
http://stats.norton.com/n/
requests auth from a tomcat server, for "statistics"
Just thought this was a bit odd. Perhaps they have a nice web interface to aid in their world takeover.
Beowulf Cluster!
With that kind of power you can kick some serious bit ass. Netboot them all and set them up for a nice little side project, or setup a server farm to run your site.
With that kind of power I don't know what I _wouldn't_ do!
I may be a bit biased here. Full disclosure: I am an Ubuntu Member, User, Abuser.
I think that Ubuntu is one hell of a Distro, and GNU/Linux is one hell of an OS.
Ubuntu, however is not geared for the market where we squeeze every CPU cycle we can. For that you have to do a _LOT_ of cleaning, replace your kernel to something a bit more fit for a server environment.
Ubuntu is, and will always be a distro that is Easy to use first, even if that comes at the expense of some kruft.
Each distro is becoming more bloated, but one great feature in Ibex ( 8.10 ) is the "System Cleaner" ( for all you GNOME users, Applications --> System Tools --> System Cleaner ) that checks for unused packages.
This may not be a whole lot, but before bashing speed, or claiming its fat, take a hard look at the distro really.
Indeed. However those are a representation of assets, not your actual assets.
Granted the "score keeping" is done digitally, but it is directly related to your estate.
The goods are not data.

Saw it on House, so it must be true!

Coil Guns rock. Inspired me to get into electronics. One that shoots Fist sized slugs would be enough for any of us :)

Basic Human Rights? Try Ethics? How about a Totalitarian Government Browbeating it's own Citizens?
It is really tough to consider that these flagrant transgressions still go on in todays environment.

maintaining the servers, paying for bandwidth... Items are digital, a construct. IMHO its silly to quibble about who owns a series of bytes.
