Yeah, I am so glad Obama never did that choosing to run off of his long record of accomplishments instead*. The worst part of Obama's campaign was his voting record which, by the way, is the exact opposite of what he campaigned on. If I had a dime for every time I heard Obama say "Eight years of failed policies" or talk about George Bush, I would be in the rich tax bracket. At least McCain was putting down the person he was running against.

As someone who once worked in an accounting shop, I can tell you that I worked on the taxes of people who were making many times more than I was (as a graduate student) and who paid much less because of tax loopholes. The larger tax-rates applied to wealthy people was sometimes rationalized by my employers as being a way to get *something* out of the wealthy at all.
Loopholes? No, that is the tax code. Even poor people have tax deductions. That said, what makes you think that raising the taxes on these people will fix that problem. they will still be able to take advantage of the loopho..... I mean tax code.
So again, why shouldn't we be clamouring for rich people and corporations to be paying up like the rest of us?

One word... Conditions. You see, they do have the same rights. They need to register. If not, why did I have to go down and register to vote? Why can't I just "show up" and vote, no questions asked? I don't care if they DO know the questions in advance. I just want them to answer them, not give political speak to try to
1. appeal to the widest range of voters
2. Confuse a certain percent of voters
3. Not answer for what they have done in the past

I strongly support term limits. I hate when McCain or Biden act like they have not been in the senate for 30+ years. And WTF is up with Obama (and others too) voting "Present". I mean if I could come to work and not do shit, but then turn around and say "but, I was here!" then that would be great but where would that get me? The only reason to vote that way is to prolong your political career and that is the last thing we need any elected official doing. Go there and do your damn job! Stand by tour record.

I am lucky, The company I work for does do a yearly security audit. This finds all the mistakes my department makes. See, I am human and computers and technology is always changing. So yes, we have missed some things.
Also, we have found that other people usually are the ones that compromise security where I am at. Usually something like, "Oh, this installed SQL, but I did not think that really mattered. Should I have set a SA password and patched it?"
The more you let students or users or whoever break into your network, the more others think they can. This is a serious legal issue. The next person might not be so nice. Insert instant legal grounds. Well, I was going to tell them, I just wasn't finished yet. They have allowed this in the past.
