I have a Thinkpad 560X, have used mainly as a second notebook. It works very fine and I made many different tests with it. Used with a 10 GB hard Drive with a mixed Windows Xp and Debian alike(Kurumin-br-pt) distribution. also used a CF IDE adaptor with a 1 Gb compact flash with Damn Small Linux.
Setup
IBM Thinkpad 560X
200 Mhz Pentium MMX
96 MB RAM
D-LINK PCMCIA 32 Bit Wireless card
3Com Ethernet
1 USB 1.1 Port
No floppy, no CD-ROM

I also have a ASUS EEEPC.
I really recomend older IBM stuff for this purpose.
