Do you think these companies really give a damn? C'mon... Unless there is a well thought-out and organized way to protest against this sort of abuse we'll only see more of it.
One way is of course through articles in mainstream publications.
Anyone with other ideas? Like an independent rating organization which gives printers a badge that says "Contains no crap/malware drivers?" "This scanner will scan rather than install other malware and try to sell you stuff?"
