    They're broken BECAUSE IE8 is standards-compliant. The sites were designed around IE6's buggy rendering.

    As someone who designs websites now and then, I don't see the problem with Windows finally shipping with a (more or less) standards-compliant browser. Is the day of having to design specifically for IE6 finally over?

    Well they don't hold any patents on any language you'd code in for .NET and actually, CLI _is_ most of .NET, and I don't see why they'd want to sue people who use their miscellaneous technologies like ADO.NET.

    spoiler: flash is proprietary too and .NET is both cross-platform and an open standard I'm still pissed they did this, it certainly doesn't help its reputation
