I find it absolutely frightening that the citizens of the country that supposedly stands against the tyranny of organizations like the Gestapo and the Stasi not only have not overturned their government over this huge scandal, but in fact mostly agree with the surveillance program.

Americans deserve what's coming to them.

When did it stand against nazi tyrrany or tyranny in general? They were perfectly happy watching the nazis swallow up Europe until Japan came in and broke some of their toys.
All the US stands against is anyone else having any power.

Yes, and this is why even in the first (second, if you treat the two-parter that began the series as two episodes) episode Janeway chose to destroy their currently only way back home instead of letting it fall into the local warring and cruel race that'd use it to conquer other planets and enslave their inhabitants. possibly leaving to things like mass genocide you mentioned. And all the other occasions where she refused to compromise her values and use methods of getting closer to home that'd endanger other species and civilizations, like with that other stranded ship that exploited energy-creating beings for that. All because she'd do anything to get back home and had no morals, it's so simple!

  3. Did they really play that game? on Left 4 Dead 2 Banned In Australia · · Score: 1

Seeing as there's a factual error in the report:

'The game contains realistic, frenetic, and unrelenting violence which is inflicted upon "the Infected" who are living humans infected with a rabies-like virus that causes them to act violently. The player can choose from a variety of weapons including pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifles. However, it is the use of the "melee" weapons such as the crowbar, axe, chainsaw and Samurai sword which inflict the most damage. These close-in attacks cause copious amounts of blood spray and splatter, decapitations and limb dismemberment as well as locational damage where contact is made to the enemy which may reveal skeletal bits and gore.'

The zombies in the game are quite obviously no longer alive, I mean, they have rotten skin, pieces falling off, not to even mention the special infected. Quite different from the rabbies zombies depicted in, for example, 28 days later.

You didn't specify that you meant the OpenGL registry up until your last post, thus reading that again won't change a thing.

Also, are you using Xinerama, Twinview or separate X servers? Problems I mentioned are well documented.

Twinview stretches a single large desktop over multiple screens. Thus, if the vertical size differs, there will be unused gaps. You can make the smaller screen scroll over that space, but it doesn't really help much, does it?
In my case it's 1050 vs 768 - that's quite a difference. In your - 1050 vs 1024. That's 26 pixels of difference. You may not even notice the unused space.

In Xinerama, on the other hand, you can only render directly to one screen at a time. That's been documented too.

Also, I have had various problems with nvidia drivers. Maybe I'm just unlucky, then.

Twinview works reasonably well ONLY for monitors with the same resolutions. If the resolutions differ - it works like pure shit.

I have a 1680x1050 and a 1024x768 screens. This leaves part of the 'big desktop' unused and also compiz is no longer able to break the big screen apart for effects liken the desktop cube.
Also, it often causes problems with fullscreen games. In other words - Twinview is ANYTHING but good.

Also, about the 'this is about OpenGL' part. Let me quote.
They are MUCH better than the ATI ones, especially in the OpenGL department.
You never limited your statement to OpenGL. You also said that it was GENERALLY much better. I don't see why my comment is besides the point, especially, that:
New standardized feature X is added to the registry.
And I've just proven that untrue. Xrandr 1.2 is included in the newest X.org. Therefore, it's pretty much a standard. And Ati drivers support it pretty much perfectly, while nvidia ones trail behind.

New standardized feature X is added to the registry. nvidia adds it pretty quickly; ATI adds it months, even years later

So you're saying that nVidia drivers fully support Xrandr and no Ati drivers support it? Yay, that means that I was doing something wrong and THAT'S why I can't have sensible dual screen with different resolution monitors and direct rendering to both screens! Now I can fix it! ... Oh, wait...

My my, what impressive mathematic skills, too bad that they aren't backed up by the simple ability to comprehend what I wrote.

In your first post you stated that the PSP IS locked out of the PSN store if you don't have a PS3, which is NO LONGER THE CASE. Do I need to make it any clearer?

    Secondly:

November 21, 2006 - September 20, 2007 = LESS than one year. I didn't leave it for you to work that out as I'm sure you can't.
November 21, 2006 is the date when FW 3.00 was released, marking the first implementation of an official PSX emulator into the PSP software. Thus, PSP users were locked out of this core feature if they didn't have a PS3 for less than a year. And before that there really was next to nothing for the PSP on the PSN store.

Now, it appears that you should invest in some basic comprehension skills training. May I suggest reading colouring books? That seems right up your alley.

I was simply trying to correct the facutal mistakes in your post. If you can't see the difference between stating past facts that have changed as currently-true and stating current facts as they are, then, quite frankly, you're beyond all hope.

And yes, I don't like to hear such 'facts'. Simply because I don't like people manipulating truth to their ends.

Anyway, I was just pointing out the inconsistencies in your post, as you made it look like if the lack of access to PSN store was STILL there, and it isn't.

And they were 'forcing' (wow, somehow they failed to force me) the PSP users to buy a ps3 to get psx games for A YEAR, as almost exactly a year later they gave them access to the PSN store on the PC. Before that there was little to none material there for the PSP, was there?

And I'm not saying that I like what they're doing to the console - as I don't - but that they do many things wrong doesn't justify you spreading untrue information.

I too have installed CFW not long after I got my PSP and I enjoy PSX games. But I'm an evil Sony apologist, so I don't count.

And you DO also know that with FW 5.00 you can access the Playstation Store directly from the PSP and download games directly to it?
