If there was any one still believing that any media that includes DRM is anything but a rental, take note. This should be even more fear inducing as this isn't an issue over a 3 or 4 year old game, this is just a customer that the seller decided they didn't like anymore.
It's nothing more than the classic "Not my problem". It's a real shame that there are so few people in the world today willing to do something about a problem that "isn't thier problem".
It's clear that squeaking is doing some good. So lets squeak louder and harder. Personally, I don't use TWC (thank god), but if I don't say something now, it will be a matter of time before this is an "Accepted" practice.
Yes, and he did petition with the first e-mail. At which point, the govermental represenative said no. He then sent a second e-mail along the same arguments as the first. After being denied he proceeded with a third, at this point you've crossed the line to harrasment of an individual not his political office.
Having to work in the cubical next to the guy who talks at 90dB. His job was to talk on the phone to support some sales people. Evidently he didn't understand that you don't have to yell for the people on the other end of the phone to hear you. Luckly I later managed to move to about 50 feet away from him. However, when he called the guy sitting on the other side of the cube wall from me, I could still hear him better than the person who was 6 feet away. It only made it worse that he was the kind of guy who couldn't give a yes or no answer. They all had to contian an intersesting story about his days at KU.
Umm... that's transmitted power. That has nothing to do with how much energy the mars rover is using. Hell, it's using around 150 watts to generate that 14 watt transmition signal. 14 Watts is what you would expect a small dish to transmit from earth's surface to a satalite.

Transmission and distribution losses in the USA were estimated at 7.2% in 1995 [2], and in the UK at 7.4% in 1998. [3]

I beg to differ. There are companies that are developing ways to make more fuel efficient cars. Those budgets combined are on a different order of magnitude than the budget a group of college kids get to hobble together a car. Those companies are the ones that are shaping the future. I don't think ANY of the solar cars are using regenerative braking as the weight cost would never be repaid as these cars don't stop but once a race.
Furthermore you make a critically bad assumption. Fuel does not have to get more expensive. In fact, with a good battery, i.e. hydrogen, you can make power more efficiently at a power plant and the total energy cost can decrease. This in turn will lower the demand for oil and lower the price of oil.

Distributing linux distros via bit torrent is a crime!!!!
I'll reserve my judgment until the policy implications come out. Unfortunantly, some of that policy has already been shown.... http://news.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/03/22/184221

Not with a bang, but with a whimper.

Without IE, how are you going to download Opera/Firefox/Safari, or even IE it's self?
