I think most people don't care about DRM when purchasing their digital media ; ignorance being bliss and all - they'll only sit up and take notice when they run up against their media telling them what to do and what hardware to purchase. It'll take a little time but eventually they'll get it and become a little more discerning. That said the likes of apple will push it for as long as people will swallow it.
With many african states effectively landlocked and with poor or insecure infrastructure this could be the data boom that africa has been waiting for. That is if it isn't choked off by self serving governments.
I don't mind sharing my data with Google - I know (hope) that they won't share it with others, I know they'll mine it, but that's a tradeoff I agreed to when signing up to and using the service.
What I did not agree to is my details being pried from Google by a foreign court and given to a private entity to do fuck-knows-what with it.
Could someone(preferably a Suomi speaker) please explain HOW in the mind of the court it's illegal to circumvent the 'protection'. Can't make it out from TFA.
