  1. Whats wrong with this picture (WAS Let's see here) on Chad Davis May Be the Next Kevin Mitnick · · Score: 1

"Yea, screwing with a web site should be punished, at about the same level as littering. NOT to the same level as murder."

Out of the mouths of babes.....

So basically you're saying I can walk into your house uninvited, deface something in your house, like say, the report you've been working on for the boss for the last six weeks, or that homework paper thats due midterm, and then expect a slap on the wrist for such actions?
Have you no respect for the personal property of
    others?

I'm not suggesting "murder" level prosecution, but most CERTAINLY not the slap on the wrist a littering charge would engender.

I will be converting all GIFs to PNG regardless.
Let UniSys have their patent(s). I will in no way
    support UniSys or GIF images.

  3. ATI TV Spec for Linux on ATI Releasing Specs for TV Tuner · · Score: 1

Its about time. I have asked a lot of users on EFNET #Linux to email ATI about releasing spec. Seems they've finally bowed to pressure. Cool.

  4. Reserved judgement on The Tragedy of Bedope, Segfault, and User Friendly · · Score: 1

Being April Fool's Day, I'll reserve judgement on some things. However, I AM saddened by the loss of the leading non-syndicated comic strip, Userfriendly.

  5. Amending GPL to include NCL, huh? on "New Copyleft License" released · · Score: 2

It says to amend the GPL (section 10), to include a proviso for the NCL if you're releasing sftwre
under the NCL. Did I miss something here? Where in the GPL does it say you can legally alter it
to include such a thing? Isn't that illegal?

  7. NT/Netfinity sucks the high hard one on IBM Linux Boxes · · Score: 1

We just got a new Netfinity. Died less than 24 hours after firing it up for a burn in. A week later and STILL waiting for a resolution. Not the best service record I've seen by far. And since this problem *appears* to be hardware related, I can only imagine what'd be in store for any Linux/Netfinity combo.
At least the boxes LOOK nice, albeit an expensive
doorstop for our server room. :)
