True. I have Comcast, but there are no alternatives for broadband. I generally like my service, just not the 1 terabyte cap that I've gone over the grace twice (you get two free).
Do users turn this on, or is it a default setting? I'd be upset if it were forced on people. This sounds like a violation of net neutrality, which is still in place for a while longer.
That's accurate, but it depends on if it wipes it with random binary a few times and then with all zeros after. Deletion will just leave the data accessible.
There is no security when a backdoor exists. Once it is known, everyone will work to get in, and you wont find out it was cracked until it has been heavily exploited.
I'm torn with all that too. My 2012 MacBook Pro died right before this deployment. I didn't want to spend what it costs to replace it, so went with a HP "gaming" laptop with a Radeon and fast processor, and it's pretty thin, just not MBA thin. I miss Mac OSX, but using Office 2016 on Windows is much nicer for that, and I don't have to dual boot for Steam. I wish there were better options.
As stated, it's easy to carry around a lot of laptops that are similarly as thin. I do think the Mac OS is nice, and agree that the install from the manufacturer screws up Win 10 pretty bad, but still don't have a justification for a $1k plus price tag.
They release a much slower laptop that just happens to be thin. It's too expensive to fill the purpose intended. I'd much rather have a MacBook Pro if I were going that route at all, but I can get a modern high speed laptop almost as thin for $800 that plays games at high resolution. The only draw is the Apple name and OS at that point.
I wonder if it's because my Amazon account was opened in 1998, and been Prime since it came about, but they don't fight me on refunds at all. I have several items that weren't showing as delivered (APO to middle east), and I messaged them to tell them they had in fact been delivered, and they apologized and gave me a $5 credit. WTF? I think they see such an old account and just give in to anything, lol
This has plagued Amazon for the longest time, and what makes it worse is when the counterfeits get sent to Amazon's warehouse for shipping. People trust items that go under "Prime" and don't realize they may be marketplace items. I've gotten several fake batteries and other items, and while Amazon has refunded me, I know not everyone is so discerning.
No
I can't help it if you voted for Trump.
No, if you put them in power, you're an enabler.
That makes no sense.
The rest of the setence that you eliminated from the quote?

Sounds like they're tightening the screws lately. I'm overseas for a few months, so I'll have to try to log in and fix it by the time I get home.

More likely you're thinking of ephebophiles. I've heard of few pre-teens victimized in the school system.
That's not how any of this works
So you're buying a hospital visit for the flu, would you like to add an additional warranty for $10?
Hmm, I won't get into that argument. Who knows. Definitely a 4th amendment issue.

If the VPN is not based in the USA, then it doesn't matter that an overreaching state fee exists.
This is a money grab, and it is not criminalizing anything, so your examples are too extreme for this scenario.
A VPN that is connecting through some other state, or some other country would easily defeat this.

Scary Terry has a response for you. You do realize I never said no one should have them, yet you said this anyway.
I guess the Lenovo Yoga Book at under $600 would be comparable.

They need to add standard search options, like -genuine would remove all products with genuine in the listing.
