with that "Maybe he should read beyond the headlines" comment. I would guess that he knows more about the engine and its future than you do Hemos.
Once again, Slashdot "editors" prove to be reactionary just to pump up a story. When the next version of UT for Linux comes out are you going to apologize for whipping people up for no reason.
That is what RMS keeps shoving down everyone's throat. The FSF zealots don't care about OSS, they care about free. The old Qt license guaranteed that the software had to be free AND open source.
I can get Windows freeware without source that costs nothing. They usually don't have restrictions on commercial use. The definitions keep getting muddier and muddier.
in the black and white (no pun intended) free software zealot world. This is a place where people proudly declare they would rather use a less functional open source version of some program than a closed source version that works better.
Qt gets raked over the coals for requiring people who would never write closed software to free software. Almost like the GPL.
are out now. First it was free software advocates, not open source advocates. Now it is open source, but not convienent enough. When will it end?
Just because the source is available does not mean they need to make you happy. If it is open source take the code, and make your own version, and stop telling others how to release their code.
I seem to remember when there is a security flaw with a Linux distribution, everyone screams that anyone who is a professional would apply the patch, otherwise they have no excuse to complain. What is this guy's excuse?
The same applies here. If this man makes his living doing documentation, he should keep up to date with the latest and greatest patches.
It raises the question that SlashHeads scream about all the time, "What about the customers needs?"
Everytime some corporation does something that the kids here don't like, you hear,
"We are the customers, they have to listen to us."
Then comes along this guy, who complains because his customers use a doc format that he does not like and has trouble with. If he is a professional, he finds a way to deal with it.
he is supposed to be a documentation professional, so he should have a copy of all the tools his customers require, whether he likes MS or not (in this case Word95 native). If he does not like MS, he should find customers that meet his needs, even though that is not the way it usually works.
and so are you. Wishing doom on people who don't share your idealogy is as much as a sign of intolerance as the opressors you seem to be scaring everyone with.
Stallman does not stand for many people and those many like it that way. We can think and decide for ourselves what is good. We don't need a spokesman.
the MPAA not over their stance on DVD, but because he does not get cast as the Tom Cruise character in any of the good flicks.
His number one demand is being cast in a movie called Top GNU, where he is the daredevil, out of control renegade coder. Stallman insisted on doing a nude scene, but the movie snack industry did not want people to lose their apetites in the theater and puke up popcorn everywhere.
everybody likes it when Linux comes out on top. When Windows wins one of these dumb comparisons, Microsoft has paid someone off. Everyone here knows that NT is less stable than Linux, but I don't believe any one of these "studies". Everyone has an axe to grind. There lies, damn lies, and benchmarks.
he is a moron
it is his job to find every rumor on every website. Please find a better excuse than that.

when Qt does this every jumps up and down. Their license is free for non-commercial use.
put the Kerberos spec from MS in my cookie file.
That way they will be responsible for distributing their own trade secrets through their own security holes.
Then, they can sue themselves.
the gaming industry is just very high profile.

RMS says all intellectual property needs to be elimintated, but he wants you to sign yours to him. How much of a phony can one person be?
This is that old communist thing, you don't need that fancy car, so give it to me, so that it does not get stolen, we will take care of it.
interest, that is why Borland is using Qt for Kylix, and not Motif. And I thought the dinosuars were extinct.
to keep it secret. Put the pdf file on an IIS server. No one will find it there because there are no IIS exploits.

they have word95 and you are giving them word97?
That is not Microsoft's fault. That is your fault.
This has to be one of the dumbest AskSlashdot questions ever.
Here is your answer...File...save As...Word 95...end of question.

take a class in economics, and you will find out that you too can believe him and be broke and somewhat off your rocker.
GNU/Brain. Hasn't Stallman claimed credit for that too?
KR is a vaginal jelly used to lubricate GNU cult members for the final insertion. Oops, that's KY.

Read it again. He is right. Little double negative action going on there.
Please turn to Tony Robbins tape #4 on having a sense of humor.
It is obvious that you really do not have any life or sense of humor.
Nice job there chief. Big talk from a geek with a keyboard.

Seig Heil, eh?
