  1. 20/20 on Laser Vision Surgery for Developers? · · Score: 1

"The main thing that is stopping me now is that like you, programming is my livelihood and thus I spent a major part of my day staring into the monitor. I have read that there is always a certain percentage of patients not regaining 20/20 vision but it's OK for them since most of them don't need that sharp vision during work."

You need 20/20 vision to write code? I manage to get by with 20/50 (corrected).. 20/20.. must be nice. As for glasses/contacts being too cumbersome.. I don't buy that for a second. LASIK is essentially a cosmetic proceedure since it doesn't enhance vision beyond the point of your best corrected vision. (It does slightly, sometimes.)

In Episode 2F09, when Itchy plays Scrathcy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we, to believe that this is some sort of a, a magic xylophone or something?

    ...I'll field this one!

  3. Small nitpick... on On the Reliability of DSL Providers... · · Score: 1

The reason that ISDN speeds "are about the same as IDSL" is because they're the same thing. (The 'I' in IDSL stands for ISDN if I'm not mistaken.)

  4. Will E-Toys be punished? (If they lose...) on Etoy: It's Not Over Yet · · Score: 2

My question is what happens if etoy winds up winning a court battle between the two. I remember that a judge said there was a $10,000/day fine for etoy.com if they left their site up... will eToys be made to compensate etoy for the downtime? ($10,000 per day of downtime, plus all of etoy's legal fees seems like a fair deal)

I'm just glad I don't have any stock in eToys. :)

  5. Re:What about other domains? on eToys Drops Lawsuit Against eToy · · Score: 1

There are quite a few porn sites that use commonly visited sites names mistyped to try and get some hits. (I think www.webcrawler.com has one like this but I can't remember what the typo was :)

As for other lawsuits, didn't Yahoo sue the owners of www.yahooka.com? Whatever became of that?
