More importantly, a bad credit rating does not imply that you are untrustworthy in financial matters, for starters, you don't know what the circumstances were, and secondly that's how you handled your money, not others.

As an employer, I am definitely going to be assuming that this person is going to be even less careful with money that isn't is then he is with money that is. I would likely let him give an explanation, but I'm only going to take so much of a risk.

You need to get a better perspective on things. First off, it's an irrelevancy how well the company CEO is being treated other than how it affects the macroeconomics of the company (very likely it is only a minor factor). Decide how well you need to be treated and make it happen. Getting angry over getting a bobble doll is the equivalent to a little kid throwing a tantrum.
Working diligently to find a place that properly values your skills is a better idea, or improving your skillset if your current skills are valued appropriately or overvalued.

Companies that have Sun servers are going to want to have Sun desktops, there is a strong, generally even true, perception that Sun is going to provide better support then some random company. Not to mention other percieved benefits such as being a larger Sun customer, one that Sun will offer lower prices and better service to.

As a rule, use the same company that performs your financial audits. All of the big auditing firms have substantial experience in this area, and while they are not necessarily the best out there their audits are more believable then those conducted by a company that does not have the same relationship. Their pre-existing relationship also give them a better understanding of what systems present the greatest financial risk to your firm.

Having security built into 802.11 is a good thing as long as it isn't the only thing going. It adds a layer of security which even if broken is still likely to add difficulty to breaking into a system, and additionally if say IPSEC is broken next week then the encryption used by 802.11 will keep the network safer then it would be if there was no encryption at all.

This is definitely the answer as it makes you feel wanted, ups your salary, and keeps managers properly respectful. To get this, I would
    (a) support cheap plentiful bandwidth
    (b) kickass high-tech colleges are another great long term effort as students will generally stay if all else is good
    (c) offer huge tax breaks to get high tech companies to move in, assurances of protection against any future Internet taxes would be very attractive
    (d) make sure your transportation systems kickass as well (both public transportation and roads)

These efforts will be a good start.

    Suggested Changes to your Setup

Instead of Integrated dual ATA-66 EIDE controllers, recommend the using the Promise FastTrak66 IDE RAID Controller which lowers cost substantially at no penalty for a workstation setup.

    Storage
Four 40 Gigabyte EIDE-66 Drives (dirt cheap and allows for plenty of diskspace which usually ends up being a huge plus!)

    OS
    Red Hat Linux 6.x
Use Mandrake instead, especially if you're going not going to recompile the Red Hat code yourself as Red Hat compiles everything as i386.
