  1. Re:What? on Australian ISPs Claim Net Neutrality Is an 'American Problem' · · Score: 2, Informative

Australian ISPs aren't too bad if you look around. The big name ISPs like Telstra Bigpond offer shitty deals like 20gig caps, but you can find places like TPG that offer 150 gig caps, for around the same price. The problem is most people just use the broadband service offered by their landline phone service, instead of researching the best deals.

  2. Publisize votes... on Video Shows Easy Hacking of E-Voting Machines · · Score: 1

I've always thought that an e-voting system should also provide a public database of all votes - showing SSN/vote. This way anyone will have the ability to check if their vote was tampered with, while still largely maintaining their anonymity (as identifying information for SSNs aren't usually easily available).

  3. Old news? on Scientists Discover Cows Point North · · Score: 1

Is this really new news? I had read about this phenomena years ago.

What's more interesting is how the same scientists found that cows near the LHC tended to sleep facing it instead. Why isn't that in the summary instead?!

  4. QA on Non-Programming Jobs For a Computer Science Major? · · Score: 1

Do QA. It pays just as well as a developer. If you like to do a little programming on the side, but not a full time career in it - do what I do, ask for some automation related projects (as in automating test cases). Keeps things interesting minus a lot of stress. If you don't want to do any programming at all, well just be warned that repetitive manual testing gets very boring very fast.

  5. Awesome bar not so awesome on A Few Firefox 3 Followups · · Score: 1

The title preview on the 'Awesome Bar' really annoys me, I don't really like the websites I visit to show up in big bold letters (Mostly political stuff etc) for my whole office to see! Has anyone figured out a way to disable it?

I found this video for disabling the "awesome bar"'s auto-sort (which I actually like), but it still shows the big title preview (which I don't like!)
