  1. Re:The real question... on 1/3 of Amphibians Dying Out · · Score: 2, Insightful

Is there such a thing as "clean nuclear energy"? Nuclear energy can be advantageous, and even cleaner than other power sources, but as long as it produces waste that takes millenniums to decay or millions to be reprocessed, calling it "clean" sounds like an oxymoron.

  2. They could have used MiniSDs... on SanDisk, Music Publishers Push DRM-free SlotMusic Format · · Score: 1

Aren't MicroSDs too small to handle? If each card is meant to contain one album, the user should be able to easily switch cards, but inserting/removing a MicroSD requires attention and patience at least.
They could have used MiniSDs, they're still tiny, but way more convenient to handle.

Perhaps they preferred the MicroSD format because they wanted the cards to be directly pluggable into MicroSD mobile phones. After all, a MicroSD card can still be inserted into a MiniSD device through a simple adapter, but the reverse is not true.

  3. Re:What format is it distributed in? on SanDisk, Music Publishers Push DRM-free SlotMusic Format · · Score: 1

I wonder if there are MicroSD to SD converters/wrappers.

Usally, MicroSDs are sold together with a MicroSD to SD adapter. It's just a form factor adapter, the signals on the cards are the same.

So in order to keep our jobs, should we all accept working conditions like those they have in China, just to be competitive with them? I think it would be a better solution if the Chinese improved their conditions, too. Meanwhile, our governments could increase taxation against those companies who outsource their work to countries with underdeveloped laws in matter of, say, environment, workers' rights and so on.

LWUIT runs on MIDP 2.0 phones, i.e. a large part of the phones out there - not just expensive smartphones which might be capable of running Plasma.

  6. Re:TV tuner card? Windows Live? on Making the Switch To Windows "Workstation" 2008 · · Score: 1

Why, there are many "professional" uses for a video capture device. Moreover, you might want to relax with your full-serious workstation after you've finished working with it - without having to change operating system. Add your little sister who breaks in your room wanting to chat with her friends, and the picture is complete :-) .

  7. Don't go too fast on Making the Switch To Windows "Workstation" 2008 · · Score: 3, Informative

Windows Server may be nice, but still, it's missing parts of the multimedia system (BDA) so you'll have a hard time trying to use your tv tuner card with it. And some applications just won't install on Windows Server (windows live, for instance).
