It was disabled because bce(4) tends to not work with machines that have more than 1GB memory. It could be fixed if someone donated a machine with bce(4).
This has to be a made up story. When I microwave, IN OTHER WORDS NUKE, my leftovers, it speeds up those atoms to make it warm. How does speeding up the moon make it a picture? Seems unlikely.
Besides, microwaving the moon, which causes radiation, could be very detrimental for our health, and the moon. Why hasn't the possibilities of deformities been weighed? Are we being irresponsible, or just dumb?
So to sum up, my microwave doesn't create pictures. So I don't get how you make a picture. Also, all those microwave waves are not healthy to be putting on the earth.
Before internet commercialization: 1.) content was great, pages loaded fast, although cosmetics were a little boring. 2.) no popups, no ads, no spyware
After internet commericialization: 1.) Huge websites with tons of graphics, poor content, slow loading, etc 2.) popups, ads, spyware
I look forward to going in reverse, back to the good ole days of the internet.
FreeBSD performs, in my opinion, better as a file server compared to Linux. With Softupdates enabled, the disk i/o can be faster than ext2fs but with all the reliability.
As a database server, it works great. FreeBSD 4.x doesn't have the best threading support, but 5.0 will, and then some. However, it runs perfectly for most needs.
I have been using FreeBSD as my desktop for 3 years now.
Gaming? Well, most of the games are made for linux. However, I have heard that people play games with wine with better FPS.
I would say give 4.4 a try. You last used the 3.2 version? 4.x has come a long way since 3.x. I am sure you will be impressed and pleased.
This is similar to Adobe's case with Dimitri. Tell a company of a flaw in their product/system, the consider you a malicious person.
The U.S. Government seems to support the idea of allowing unsecure products and telling people not to exploit them. I guess their being against encryption falls into the same place.
we are not duplicating functions. For example, we have library 0.1. library 0.2 comes out, and now gnome apps no longer work. we must change all apps. Now imagine if 5 libraries get updated. Why should we depend on library if we only use 1 or 2 functions from it? All it does it add space to your harddrive, unnessacary memory usage, and more change for bugs.
no, but I am sure they don't use every feature of every library. Why not just rewrite the functions needed? The more libraries an application depends on, the easier it is to break and more difficult it is to fix bugs and such
Hey David Patrick, why not give GNOME some hope and lower the number of librarie's gnome relies on? You know, GNOME might be cool if I didn't have to download 20 other libraries and applications to get a GNOME app working.
Because there are those out there who use the same password for their email accounts. Telnet to the ISP mail server of the user, login with his name, password...
take out 'i mean' and 'obviously' out of lars' replies and you have shorted the length quite a bit. I wish they understood technology more. They don't get too deep into the reason. Napster is 'bad' and that is as far as they can go.
so enable it.

The Linux compatibility is excellent in my opinion. It runs my linux java and netscape binaries just fine.

thanks for proving the fact that geeks get laid too.

Patrick,
In your opinion, how do you see the BSDi and Walnut Creek merger affecting Linux in the next few months? year?
