  1. Re:Sounds good to me on Bitcoin Fork Divides Community · · Score: 1

So two different ways that can go, either they are halved or more (in which case, hodl until one wins), or they are not halved (in which case sell sell sell sell sell, hodl the cash, wait for a winner, and buy buy buy, and simultaneously hope that the price doesn't go too high for the winning side in the meantime). Personally, I'm really shitty at timing, so I'm just going to hodl no matter what. I'm proud to do my part in ensuring the price of bitcoin remains relatively high.

I just want to vomit. Seriously, it's a nation with a tiny population and a gigantic amount of crude petroleum wealth. Stop comparing them to us. That's like saying "Why can't we get the same efficiency that the Prius has in my diesel?"? It is a car analogy.

It's good to see that I think "redirection" is a dick move. Seriously, I fucking hate that. When someone is at work and HAS to use IE, or if someone just doesn't feel like upgrading, or is running a computer that can't run modern browsers, asking them to upgrade is okay, but telling them that this site isn't accessible from their browser is just straight up pissy.

First off, I think personally that macs look stupid, but that's beside the point. A week ago I downloaded iTunes for the hell of it, was turned off by the advertisement all over the goddamn place, and uninstalled it. Since then, Apple hasn't shut the fuck up. Every day, a new e-mail is in my inbox going on about the new iPod. I marked them as spam, I've tried to get off the list. I haven't succeeded yet. Fuck you apple.

exactly, one can't blame flash for improper implementation. Certain websites have done great with flash, see Falcon Northwests' website, and some are horrible, but at the end of the day you blame the dev, and not the platform. Any decent dev who doesn't know that php/html/css layout is better for information representation isn't going to care about seo anyway.

Ma' Bell did have a monopoly, but if they hadn't then we would never have the national land lines set up as well as they are. Imagine 3 different standards in a developing technology that requires that much effort and money to set up. I think similarily, Windows provided an example of how a decent GUI for an operating system works (yeah I know they borrowed components from Apple) but Linux is around, therefore it is not a monopoly. Hell, they're competing sith something that's free, and I think the government should butt out. First its controlling this business, then it'll be controlling every business, regulating prices "competitively". How far should it go?

  14. Re:I am _so_ calling this one: on DOJ To Oversee Windows 7 Development · · Score: 1

I agree for the most part, the government should have no right to tell private businesses how to operate and develop. Microsoft isn't killing anyone, and there are alternatives out there (growing ones, EEE anybody?). Microsoft should have every right to push any software they see fit whether or not it's inducing a monopoly. The only way to get a monopoly is to provide better service than the competition.
