Well, potty humor aside, it's pretty difficult to get a PC into the can with you, and if you've ever dropped your phone in "there", you stop bringing it along. Print will always have a place. I've been reading DDJ since its start, and am sad to see it go. Too bad not enough folks are willing to pay a decent price for in depth information.
Um... The post office is private, but protected. Even the best hardware and software fails on occasion. That was my point earlier - we need a better service model if we expect SAS to work.
If the small Government crowd had their way the post office would still be the Pony Express.
Let's see you get a letter acorss the country in a week for less than 50 cents. UPS and FedX can't - they get $5 for the smallest item. So much for off loading services to business!
This is a great example of why SAS (Software as a Service) in its current form will eventually fail. The very nature of the Internet is to be disconnected and stateless. If there is no guaranteed delivery at the 5 - 9's level (99.999%), then how can business expect to depend on the service? Mind you, I don't have a better model, but we had better come up with one if we intend to continue using the Internet for commerce!
I think we all need to realize that the waste and "pork" that gets dissed all the time is what makes our neighborhoods a nice place to live. The new swing set at the park down the street and the money to the community center in the blighted area are paid for with "pork". Yes, sometimes they are a "bridge to nowhere", but that's not the rule. If your local Congressman or Senator could not bring money into your area you'd quickly vote for one who could.
Per Wiki - is pretty thin: one nanometer is one millionth of a millimeter
I'm guessing the paper cuts will be hardly noticable, but missing fingers will be a problem.
IBM was using PC-DOS (based on WFW) for years in its POS (Store Systems) controllers. I'm sure there are many more embedded versions around.
My big worry is when they get rid of Windows 98. What will I use for boot disks in ancient hardware that won't boot from a CD?

Wow, what Catholic school did you go to? Mine had nuns who gave us the Catechism as Gospel, and told us not to read the Bible.
