AFAIK, software cannot be patented in Europe. You can copyright code, but not patent the resulting program. The international nature of the internet thus limits the importance of these patents, since the spiders and search engines can be hooked up to the web anywhere in the world.
If we made drug use mandatory in public schools, we would a few generations from now have a society of people who could deal with drugs.
Overdoses are sad, because the victims probably never had access to reliable information about the drugs they were using.

Computers allow any monkey to illegally copy and distribute intellectual property. It follows that when a university its students free access to any computer cluster or lab, it is encouraging unlawful activities.
I propose a strict ban on publicly available computer equipment at university and college campuses! Hopefully, the recording industry will soon get what they deserve.
That way, Microsoft can make people believe that Opera has a lower market share than is really the case.
Mozilla is still blocked from Amazon.com, but I can lynx it no problem. Hence they are finally agreeing that lynx gives an awesome user experience.
