i know i'll get modded down for bringing this up, but i wonder how the surveyed would respond to questions regarding the efficacy of alex chiu's rings. it is very possible that, were the questions presented validly, people may have answered "illogically" based on personal experiences, and the placebo effect. if you take a look at the immortality ring message board, there are several who have abnormally high faith in this deviant technology. i, myself, have been wearing the neos for a few months with no effect:). the general gullibility of the public, mixed with its lack of knowledge or even care for the field of science leads to abnormal degrees of trust for unsubstantiated claims, as long as they are presented impressively and from a supposed authority. it's interesting how all of this affects the public.
no he didn't. the seller felt guilty and ended up selling the actual unit to the bidder, who, if i recall correctly, was not a lady. he also did not lose his account. that is, of course, if we're thinking about the same case. was there another box sold on ebay?

does the product's pic at apple.com remind anyone else of the south park episode, 'cartman gets an anal probe?' in particular, the scene in which a satellite portrudes from cartman's ass.
"cartman, there's a 15-inch active matrix lcd screen sticking out of your ass!"
"sure, you guys, whatever."

i was apparently the 68 or 69th person in the nation to make the transition to the attbi network from excite's (i'm in oregon). aside from the obvious question why we were the first to make the transition, i'm quite miffed at att's tech support. i understand that they were most likely busy, but no one with whom i spoke knew a damn thing about what was going on.
overall, i'm neutral about the switch. i do like my new, lower ip, but i fear that it isn't going to be quite as static as my old one. either way, attbi looks "cleaner" than @home, imo.
From reading many of these postings, it seems as if many people aren't aware that TiK is again under active development over at http://tik.sourceforge.net The current release is 0.87.
Also, regarding the ICQ protocol, you can now login with some aim clients (I've personally verified TiK and heard that Gaim worked, too.) Just type in your UIN and password. I have reason to believe that the release of the "aim" protocol will, consequently, contain information for ICQ, as well. I just hope this release will actually occur. . .
but would this have any effect on people with lead feet?

do you know how long it took me to figure out that mst3k was mystery science theater 3000?
not quite 20 seconds.
man, that's pointy. gone now are the days when we could bash our heads into our keyboards in frustration when 'hello world' didn't compile right.
