I have two boys who are 9 and 11 and they are incredibly avid readers ( a couple of novels a week).
They have very different tastes in reading material but both have eagerly flew through a series by Rick Riordan called Percy Jackson and the Olympians. There 10 year old cousin has read through all the books as well. They are a huge hit. Might want to give them a try.
