I must concur. One thing that also drives me crazy that's graphic-related (you kinda touched on it) is when you go to a URL looking for something specific, but instead of giving you the content right away, the site designer feels you need to see some flashy graphic that says "WELCOME TO SOMESITE, CLICK TO ENTER." What the hell is that all about? If I didn't want to enter, would I have gone to the site? No, I don't think so.:P
i used to love the xfiles. then something changed at the beginning of this season (and possibly last season). the xfiles became a monster of the week show, with no mention of the underlying story save but a few episodes. it really sucks. the x-cops episode was slightly entertaining, scully's evil woman looks made it very enjoyable.:) fortunately, i was forwarned of sunday's episode and did not watch. it just seems that the focus has shifted to making the xfiles silly and each episode be a 'stand alone'. oh well.
yes, but s51 has been around for just a couple weeks (i signed up and became member #111 when the slashdot code was released on it). i think s51 has a much cleaner and cooler interface (scoop's the man!) than sourceforge. i think s51 will rock once it comes out of alpha/beta.

i hate netscape (opera isn't looking too good either with it's windows-inside-a-window design). i truly do. in linux/freebsd, not only is it slow and bloated, but it likes to crash when there's a hint of java or when you get it confused by trying to close windows. some people will most likely say i'm lame because i want the EVIL EMPIRE(tm) to release a version of IE for linux/freebsd, but that's okay. if it works, i don't care who makes it. i know many people who would also like to see IE for linux/freebsd, and i hope it's released someday.

Version 3.4 of XFree86 already supports the 3dfx Banshee and Voodoo3's. It works quite well on my machine. :)
the article says that US scientists at Harvard did this, not the brits.
