no really i tried this extension a while ago, it makes the system a bit slow but still works, and when u turn the ASCII effect on... wow so weird, i never seen ANYTHING like that before!!!
for information on various subjects i am interested in reading usenet just can't be beat, the web is too slow and unorganised to find anything as quickly. however there is a lot of crud on there as well, i would like to see cross-posting banned, it just seems to be abused time and time again, usually by idiots who wish to spew forth their pointless racial agenda to people who are not interested. there are also too many newsgroups i think, and everytime i start newswatcher it seems there are a few new ones added.
it would work better being pruned a bit

aha it always pays to look it up first before u type =D
65000 characters in total, lets see... it might be enough but u have to fit traditional, simplifiied chracters in there plus japanese and korean versions of chinese characters plus the few thousand cantonese only characters... so maybe you'll need to use about 35000 spaces for CJK
calm down guys, mandarin and cantonese will in a few decades become to only major dialects of chinese used i think, the first because of official support, the second because its the language of entertainment. as for two people speaking different dialects, well they can communicate using writing, but only if both use modern standard chinese (AKA mandarin). actually most chinese writing has always been then is, AFAIK the only dialect to have many special characters is cantonese, though even if cantonese uses standard characters the meaning and sentence structure can be different. that makes, for example, reading cantonese song lyrics tricky to someone mandarin literate.
can anyone tell me how many characters are allowed in unicode, from a number i heard before theres not enough space for chinese *alone* - never mind all the other languages in the world
yeah different regions of the world have different flavors of english, accented like the usual language in the country and using slang and words from other languages. like singlish (from s'pore), chenglish (from HK) and so on
Maybe I'm alone in this, but even if I strongly disagree or become deeply offended at what someone else is > saying, I'm still willing to defend to the death their > right to say it. It doesn't matter to me if it's the KKK, neo-Nazis, the Nation of Islam, or the Scientologists.
oh that old chestnut again, what if someone called your mom a whore who gave it to sailors free, would you prevent your dad from punching the guy out, even resorting to beating your dad up instead?
defend racist talk huh? even though it encourages the attacks and discrimination against people? get in the real world please and find out what its like to be someone who lives in fear from racsicts and fascists who you appear to support the right to say what they want. have you ever lived in fear of your life and of your family's life because of words of some nazi? i bet not, and until you do you got absolutely no idea what you are talking about!
maybe they would... until u come to a site that needs javascript support inable to use it. until then i can't use iCab 100% of the time but a new version should be out soon?
the first Alpha then, boy its still unimaginably slow! now IE 4.5 loads on my system in about 2 seconds so my computer is pretty fast (300Mhz G3) but Mozilla is just an absolute dog still, especially if u try to enter anything like preferences. the first time i entered it i could not close the new window that opened (with it's strange X-Window like interface). opening pages was ok and fast but the font size was too small and could not be expanded.
i guess i'll wait until the next release, at least this new one didn't crash the computer this time.
well its not really a true analogy, all QWERTY keyboards are basically the same\ with a few function and special purpose key changes but the letters are in the same place. however the issue is that different programs have different ways to show certain bits of info.

its insecurity mixed with the zeal of religious conversion
yes and add a good proportion of wackos
it would work better being pruned a bit
maybe because it was pants?
just ignore the bigots and racists, the Gods will punish them one day

because the net got its headstart in the US, now other langauges are definately catching up
i dunno, considering how stridently pro-Linux slashdot is i am surprised they actually mention other OS in a positive light!

yeah but i'm running IE 4 on a Mac so dilweed yourself!
who are you talking to? anyway IE 4.5 doesn't load itself at boot actually, unless i was to put it into the startup items folder
oh i know, if u r too quick on the favourites menu you'll get an empty one
i got it too, on one of my own homepages... so i was not very impressed =D
