It was a joke, though of course you can't see that.
Because I enjoy living, why would I not want to go on doing it?
Sure it might be nice if there was a greater purpose to living (though none of the mainstream religions propose anything I consider better than what you describe as "completely meaningless" - but I don't know the details of every religion that has ever existed). However, pretending something is true doesn't actually make it true anyway.
And those magic ESP powers means he knows that the other person (who has taken up smuggling cocaine as a hobby/job) is perfectly trustworthy and incorruptible

They can be improved. Organic farming, by it's definition can not be improved.
That's just plain old false. Its definition says no such thing.
You can farm organically using a two field crop rotation system. Change to a three field crop rotation and you are growing 33% more while still doing organic farming, disproving you claim.
Now sure you'd be pretty dumb to be using a two field crop rotation since some people were using four field crop rotation in the 1500s. But you don't know there isn't a more efficient system we haven't discovered yet that would improve yields - it seems unlikely I admit but that covers a "by definition" claim.
Oh yeah, they'll never actually catch or stop an actual terrorist so using their fourth amendment exemption to search for things that aren't security risks is all they can actually do.
Because it would be much better to rewrite from scratch each time the instructions to people whose contract has expired, have resigned, or have been "let go".
Rather than covering all the bases once and updating when policies change. After all leaving stuff out by mistake is much better than reusing a document.
And when you employ a new person have the system administrators team just do it from memory too. So what if they miss a step once or twice or put someone in the wrong group much better to be personal than actually follow a well thought out and pre-written procedure.
By choosing what to research a scientist is advocating for something. If I'm a scientist and I choose to research String Theory then I'm advocating for it. Of course in doing exactly that I'll actually be doing things that could disprove it (well OK String Theory mightn't be the best example*).
* I kid, I don't know enough about the field to know just how much those claiming it is unfalsiable are exagerating.
You usually won't see them questioning them though, since they aren't going to publish something they've already worked out is garbage. Heck a lot of advocacy is questioning in the first place - "we did experiment Y and the results were as predicted by theory X" - doing the expirement is fundamentally questioning the theory.
And of course a lot of advocacy for "their own theory" is in fact questoning of some other theory. And that's also how science works - one person doesn't need to do all the work.
Air has a density of 1.204kg/m^3 at 20C, so a baloon with 3000m^3 of air has 3612kg of air. When we heat that air to 120C the density drops to 0.898kg/m^3 so 2694kg.
Now lets pretend the mass increase from heating magically applies to all the original air - 3612kg of it. Our temperature change is 100C == 100K. Heat capacity of air ranges from 1.005 to 1.013 over our temperature range. Since we're going for the overestimate lets say it's 1.013.
1.013 kJ/kg*K * 3612 kg * 100 K = 365,895 kJ
E=mc^2 365,895,000 = m * 299,792,458^2 m = 365,895,000 / 299,792,458^2 m = 0.000000004kg
So a 0.000000004kg mass increase and a 2694kg mass decrease and you think the increase is going matter?
And yes I'm probably off by a few orders of magnitude on a unit conversion or something somewhere - but you know what - it doesn't change the result. The crease in the baloon material making our volume measurement be off by some tiny amount makes a bigger difference.
Please explain how your interpretation meshes with the statement (in the summary even):
The term would also apply to insiders who might have legitimate access to a system but not to specific information or files on the system.
All it is saying is that if you do have authorized access to something, then misusing that something isn't an offence under the CFAA.
So there's is no "attack from within with impunity". If an employee doesn';t have authorized access to something that they access it still applies after all.
The case itself is a perfect example so I see no point in trying to provide one.
And I'm pretty sure they didn't get permission from Microsoft and Mozzila and Google and Opera and Apple and all the other web browser producers whose software their users use to access slashdot.
In fact I know they didn't since I just accessed slashdot with a web browser I just wrote and they certainly never got my permission.
You shouldn't and no one gives a shit that you don't, so there's no need to bother mentioning it.
True enough I was thinking of crop rotation methods and my lifetime - but I didn't mention either of those things.
But yes, you are right it's as certain as you can be that organic methods will improve yields if they are researched and practiced over time.
It was a joke, though of course you can't see that.

Maybe learn what crop rotation means?
Hint: you don't add any area, you just divide the crop space you have into three fields into of two.
That's just plain old false. Its definition says no such thing.

Because they can tell that a 10 pound package contains 10 pounds of cocaine and not 10 pounds of explosives with their magical ESP powers?
Or that there's not a knife or gun hidden in the center of that cocaine like substance?
Or, god forbid, a bottle of water hidden inside?
So why would the TSA give a shit?
Oh yeah, they'll never actually catch or stop an actual terrorist so using their fourth amendment exemption to search for things that aren't security risks is all they can actually do.
Most people care about prices not the money supply.
Most people expect population and economic production to increase over time.
Thus most people see a stagnant money supply as price deflation.
Surely the jury figures out who is telling the truth.
Murder wasn't a transportable offence - it was a capital offence. I'm sure a few slipped though but not boatloads of them.
Piracy was also capital not tranportable.
Crooks aplenty of course.

I think your using advocacy differently than me.
Since that's basically what I said.
By choosing what to research a scientist is advocating for something. If I'm a scientist and I choose to research String Theory then I'm advocating for it. Of course in doing exactly that I'll actually be doing things that could disprove it (well OK String Theory mightn't be the best example*).

There were no human proof readers and there was no peer review and there was no publication.
Did you not read the article you posted a link to? Or is the deception intentional?
Because one person reads the sports section while another person reads the main news section while another person reads the review section.
Which is ever so slightly harder to do with a single e-reader.
Cutting back on eating doesn't seem like such a bad choice for "the average american".
A 3612kg-2694kg = 918kg mass decrease.
I knew I'd screw something up. Still:
0.000000004kg versus 918kg - which one will matter most?
Yes, you thought that through well didn't you?
Air has a density of 1.204kg/m^3 at 20C, so a baloon with 3000m^3 of air has 3612kg of air. When we heat that air to 120C the density drops to 0.898kg/m^3 so 2694kg.

365,895,000 = m * 299,792,458^2
m = 365,895,000 / 299,792,458^2
m = 0.000000004kg

You thought wrong.
When you heat something up it gets heavier.
Both are arguable.
But that's irrelevant since neither of them are in the original claim the bredth of which is all I was disputing.
