Don't you know? This is the land of the free (unless you're suspected of something). Guilty until proven innocent by a jury of people that you have nothing in common with. Uh, I mean, peers.
OTOH, he did make some comments about blowing up a mall. Not that he was planning to do so, but about how easy it would be. He probably had some other profiling flags, too.The thing with the FBI is, they don't really have to justify anything if they don't feel like it.
Totally agree. But when a tower is using a computer system from the 60's? (not that this is the case with this particular story, but there are some out there like this) Reliable or not, I would like to think they are updating at least every 10 years to implement better safety features and what-not.
He hacked it into a corded controller that connects to the console...
Another over-used term. I would had called that "wired" or even "spliced" (although that's another mis-used term). Not "hacked". Unless he socially engineered the wires into the controller, or DDoS'd them onto the circuit board. Still...very neat use of an old NES.
Next time you pretend to be someone else try to at least use different phrases than what's in your usual arsenal (ad hominem, Ping of death, the two guys from Nirsoft and MS) . Your limited mind is capable of only so little, I know, but I'm sure you can do a little better. Also, if (and that's a HUGE "if") the ac that posted was not you, they clearly did a lot of work to debunk what I was saying. In fact, all of the research that was done and typed out to prove me wrong took right at 30 minutes. Someone who just "happened" by the conversation would have had to do a lot of reading and searching to make sure they were making accurate statements, no? So the fact that it only took 30 minutes tells me it was clearly you trying to make it look like someone might possibly be on your side, which you know as well as I do (and everyone else on Slashdot) wouldn't happen. I, on the other hand, have had several people back me up in this thread, and I have no idea who they are and made no calls to friends or the like. You're completely alone in this conversation and probably alone in the world; there's no fucking way anyone could stand to be around such a pompous ass in real life.
So Pete, it looks as if once again, I win. Of course, you'll never admit it which is why everyone stops talking to you. Your ego sees it as a win because if you were to ever admit to yourself you are, in fact, even 1/4 the twat that I and everyone else knows you to be, you would kill yourself. So go ahead and keep trolling me and posting on every comment I make because you're a child with no life. I do appreciate the flattery of obsession, but I'm really not worth it (and you sure as fuck aren't)....move along.
No, he only has links to his list of accolades from 1997 and posts where he supposedly defeats "ad hominem" attackers "2EZ". He wouldn't dare keep up with a link to something that makes his crapware from 1996 obsolete...his ego would never let it happen.
HAHAHAHA Funny, Pete. Like we can't all tell this is you without your initials and "P.S.=>" at the bottom of the post. You do, however, make sure to use the "ad hominem" words.
Jesus Christ, you really are delusional. I was having fun for a while but now I feel like I've just found out the fat kid I've been making fun of this whole time has bone cancer and has a month to live; you really do have something wrong with you.
Experience with APK? I'm sorry to hear that. He's a sad, sick little man. For those of you who don't know what we're dealing with here, Google "Alexander Peter Kowalski" and read the first hit. It's hilarious and gets you a great idea as to who this guy is.
Although, anyone who's been on Slashdot for any number of weeks already knows what a douche bag he is.
I actually made the first post in the threat that he references above. Someone had commented on a particular story and how it was going to turn into a MAC vs. PC war in x number of comments. Since I had recently seen some of the stupid shit that APK has been throwing out there regarding hosts files and his general inability to hold a civil conversation, I thought it would be funny to make a comment about how he was going to start a war about hosts files along with the MAC vs. PC, since that's all he seems capable of discussing (and I use that term loosely). Or, to summarize the story, I threw out a bucket of troll chum and he took the bait just like I hoped he would.
I take it you've had run ins with the douche bag, as well? It seems he's uniformly hated no matter where he goes.
Yeah, but you could if you wanted to. You at least know it's binary and that's already better than many. Yes, it's a great skill to be able to setup a Cisco from the CLI, but it takes 1/10th the time from the GUI.
I get what the post is getting at: It's a dying art and the base skill seems to be dwindling. Ultimately, time is money and if it's faster to re-image, then fine. So long as the the ability to set it all back up from scratch is there in case there are no good images.
a unique FCC ID that traces back to the FBI
I looked up the ID and it applies to a cellular remote access device. I don't know that it necessarily traces back to the FBI, does it?
Jeez...subtlety anyone? That thing looks like a walking stick!

Jail is a black hole where we toss people we do not like.
We thought that was called "Australia".

This is an issue in a lot of places. Huffingtonpost did a story last year about the systems in the U.S. and how old they are.
You would think this is one of those places where the technology would be constantly updated, but not so.
I am pretty dumb, but in this case I was joking. ;-)

You really do live in your own little world, don't you? Oh well, hope you enjoy your miserable, lonely life.

Meh, whatever. He's clearly lonely and needs the attention, or is off his Depakote and it isn't really "him".
Wow Pete, I've really bothered you haven't I? Your replying to my every post over the past three days proves that I've beaten you.
Maybe it's the marketing, but the video on their site makes me want to go buy one. Like, I'm not going to feel complete unless I do.
I guess that's why I drive an El Camino...
It's a thinner, faster, more expensive iPhone - sans the phone?
P.S.=> ROTFLMFatAO! apk
There, fixed that for ya. ;-)
Glad to see I've still ruffled your feathers, even 3 days after the fact. Did you go to sleep stewing about me, Petey?
How's that troll bait tasting?
A little bit like our other friends in Redmond, no?
thread, not threat
