  2. Best application isn't for the lazy on Towards an Exercise Pill · · Score: 2, Interesting

The best use is for bed ridden hospital patients. Being able to have patients maintain muscle mass is one of the most difficult things when treating patients with Chemotherapy for example. This drug will revolutionize the field of physical therapy. Shorter rehab times means less time spent in hospitals and big savings. Every over crowded hospital in America should be investing in this research.

The subsidized phone cost is really the root of this problem. I wonder if America would just be better off if we moved to a system like in Europe and Asia, where phones cost much more, and the plans are significantly reduced.

  4. Best News I have heard all day on Judge Rules Sprint Early Termination Fees Illegal · · Score: 1

This is great news. I never understood why telcos decided to charge all these fees in the first place. Couldn't they get rid of them and just increase the cost of their plans? Since they claim they need them that seems like the way to do it. Why sneak all your revenue in by shady practices? Too bad they will likely appeal the ruling and nothing will be decided for years will this is tangled up in court.

It certainly qualifies as a joke anyhow. Cloud computing (an idea that is barely in its infancy) is no more likely to "only run Linux" than anything else. Especially considering as you say no one can really agree on what this "cloud" really even means.

This shouldn't really surprise anyone. Beijing has been way too tight-fisted about internet control to suddenly decide that everything is now fair game. I'm actually amazed they allowed as much as they did. Oh well, if you need to see Amnesty International then maybe encrypt your traffic or use a VPN.
