If a 3000 kg takes 40 kN/m to go from 0-10km/h... 1000kn Pruis takes 5KN
Wow... at least now the physics classes I TA don't seem so bad.
I really have no idea where to start to tell you how horrible this post was, Newton per meter is surface tension.. even if it's just Newtons (or Newton meters) it has nothing to do with going from 0-10 km/h, you need ENERGY to do that!
In any event a 1000kg prius would take 1/3 the energy of 3000kg SUV, especially at 0-10km/h where friction has little do to with anything.
Then you want gasoline to be displayed as N/L, I assume you mean Joules per Liter, not Newtons, since that is not a unit of energy. Still we obviously can't get all the energy, so different octanes would still need different energy ratings, reflecting their realistic efficiencies in a combustion engine.
This is exactly the reason for making a grading system. If a grading system is implemented it will not reflect the emissions from our coal electric plants, therefore making electric cars seem very green. In any event, if we did do energy comparisons, at least it would be obvious the electric company charges less than a dollar for the same amount of energy as from a gallon of gas.
Furthermore, are you really using liters and Newtons in America, AND expecting that to be a reasonable thing to do, regardless of your apparent assumption that diesel is more than three times efficient than gasoline.

Because as stated before, 110 times 26 ~ 3 kW. And a coffee maker is about 1 kW, so three coffee makers is 3 kW, in agreement with the summary.
It's what got us into trouble with the current economic meltdown.
Actually when Glass-Steagall got repealed in 1999 that set the stage, this allowed all the large Banks to gamble with money backed by FDIC insurance. Since there FDIC insurance, the clients (people who put their money in banks) had no reason to calculate risk. You can't have FDIC insurance and not care if the Banks go gambling. However, that's not a free market at all. FDIC insurance makes Banks compete on yield, i.e. the riskier the Bank, the more clients it will get. If there was no deposit insurance, then Banks could compete on safety. The last crisis was actually the biggest reason to believe in free markets, because it shows what happens when the government does an incredibly half assed job of regulating industries.
Not to mention that the most indebted companies in the World, were Fanny and Freddie, both created by government, both of which allowed the housing bubble to form. And let's not forget that the Fed sets interest rates, sort of hard to have a free market when the entire banking system is controlled by central banks. So yea, the whole mess was entirely created by government programs and regulations.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Net Neutrality, it insures a Free Market, at least ON the internet. Allowing a couple big companies to filter the internet in anyway they see fit seems ridiculous to me. Telephone companies have to connect me to whoever I call, be they black, white, hispanic, etc...
That's because lighter fluid is boring, but nuclear fusion converts protons + electrons into neutrons, and the mass difference is given off as energy. So there is NOT the same number of protons electron and neutrons before and after.
Particles can indeed disappear, that's why it's hard to discover new particles, because they often live for much less than a nanosecond. They usually decay into other particles and gamma rays.
Think of what happens when a high energy cosmic ray hit the upper atmosphere, it creates a shower of particles.... that's what the laser beam will do at high enough intensities... this is because it's all in phase, and at high intensities, many photons are in the same quantum state... so it will act like a gamma ray, even though it's not at a high frequency.
However fear is unwarranted is is basically just Luddism, just fearing things because they are new.
I am personally very excited about GM, but I think you completely missed why the GM products of Monsanto are evil.
The genetic mods are not for more nutrition, more flavor, etc... they are for resistance to pesticide, or mod the plant so it produces it's own pesticide. So when you do end up eating said plant, you are ingesting a lot more pesticide.... that's less 'natural'. Sure, there is probably too much pesticide and crappy ferts in most food at the store, but there is really no need to modify the plant, just so I can ingest more pesticide.
Hopefully this crappy 1st gen of GM plants go away soon. I'm waiting for a redwood sized cannabis plant, now that would be GM!
I have two stories, the first is somewhat similar. I made the mistake of calling a Bully a 'poser' in French class in highschool. I supposed he hadn't noticed he should pick on me until then. He got up and slapped me in the face..... before I knew what happened I had gotten up and punched him the face, and he ran out of the room dripping blood from his nose. They found him in the stairwell crying. Over the next couple weeks I had so many people coming up to me and thanking me for what he did, since he used to pick on them. He was no longer much of a bully.
The other story is less violent. This one kid used to chase me around every lunch period and wrestle me to the ground all 4th and 5th grade. My parents made me play little league baseball, and he was on my team, but didn't pick on me there, since our coach wouldn't have allowed anything like that. So at one game his dad was there, extremely drunk, so drunk and making a scene, yelling at other parents, the ump, and got kicked out of the place. I had never seen that kid so upset, and I said to him 'man your dad is crazy', which is hindsight I'm glad he didn't flip out. He just looked very upset and was never mean to me ever again, I suppose the truth set me free. I think he was much more embarrassed about everything seeing what his dad did, than getting beaten up. Kids with low income drunk parents aren't going to be nice to others. They have no fear of lying, since they have been lied to by their inept parents. These kids still learn quite well, they have just learned all of the social qualities we do not want them to learn.
Is it illegal? Connecting to your home computer from China? Obviously it's not hacking the firewall... if the firewall already allows a connection to your VPN, then is that illegal?
As an American visitor, is it illegal to look at certain content online? Or perhaps this is only illegal for Chinese citizens... does anyone actually know? Do Chinese police respect the law anyway?
We had three FM broadcast transmitters operating on this antenna with about 250 kilowatts of radiated power, and the measured levels in the building across the street were not over the limits for public access. This was about 150 feet horizontally from the antenna.
So the power per square meter is 250kw/(4*pi*r^2) = 8 watts / square meter. I rounded off and used 50 meters for r. Drop the factor of 4 if you want, since it's pointing at you -> 32 watts.
Now cell phone towers are about 500-1000 less powerful than these radio transmitters, as they transmit 50 miles or so.
So we are talking more around 10 mW / m^2..... before it hits the window.
But the fact that,
1) It's only 20 feet away,
2) It's in the same plane as you, and,
3) It's pointed AT you...
I heard there's this big glowing spot in the sky, right above my house, and it's hitting my roof with 1000 watts/m^2, my god that more than 1000 times more RF than the freaking RF tower.
Then benefits of not being on the ground floor, and therefore staying away from Radon, far outweighs the cell tower.
By Market Price Through Greedy Amoral Stock Exchanges (=Capitalism),
(Evil, evil, evil, evil, evil. Will let poor children die, will have people working for MONEY their whole life, bah)
Money is a representation of your productivity as a worker. You could work to produce any item you would like to, then sell it for money, so that you can buy items you don't produce. Charities are for poor people, and the more Capitalism there is, i.e. less tax, the more money available to charities.
Deviations from Capitalism always results in the government reallocating your money by force, i.e. the income tax. I suppose some people think it is moral to take your money and give it to someone else, and those people are socialists.
Most atrocities associated with capitalism involve government policies favoring certain companies, or monopolies
It's irrelevant if you call us matter or anti-matter. We have defined matter as the stuff we are made out of, and anti-matter, it's opposite that we don't find any of.
We look all around the universe and only see matter, i.e. all the stars, planets, gas, and blackholes that we see are made out of matter. If there was even a little bit of anti-matter it would annihilate with interstellar or intergalactic gas immediately. It's incredibly hard to create lasting quantities of anti-matter, since you have to keep it suspended in a vacuum, making sure that no matter touches it.
According to the standard model, when the big bang occurred equal amounts of matter and anti-matter should have been created. This would lead to all the matter and anti-matter annihilating and no matter existing in the universe at all. Obviously this didn't happen, so the model is incomplete. To explain the dominance of matter requires symmetry breaking, either in the creation or annihilation of matter/anti-matter. But there are lots of possibilities, it could be a major break in symmetry that hasn't been discovered but can be found out using CERN or this acceleator, or something very much harder to discover - perhaps the symmetry only breaks in a single possibility of certain particle interactions at extremely high energies, so high you need the energy of an entire galaxy to power your particle accelerator.
From quantum mechanics, arises entropy, which explains things on a macroscopic level, i.e. multiple particles. Gravity however, opposes entropy, since it pulls particles together, into a lower entropy state.
This guy takes the opposite approach, by taking entropy as the fundamental property of nature, of which the forces arise. He must define entropy in a different way than usual, obviously with information, which somehow produces gravity. Generally entropy arguments are used when gravity is not an issue, showing how dense concentrations diffuse, with the particles repelling each other. Quite the opposite of gravity.
Sounds quite creative, but I'm probably not going to read through 29 pages of Ph.D. level string theory and understand anything, although if someone wants to explain his definition of information entropy, that would be most helpful.
How do you think they test drugs for the heart? Either test them on a human, then dissect the human, and then kill the human.... or use dogs and then kill the dog. By the time global warming is actually a catastrophe, we should be able to cool the earth; I actually saw a great talk about how small scale nuclear warfare (not thermonuclear) between India and Pakistan would cool the Earth quite well for a decade or so..... . Seriously tho, how about we just have a real 4th of July in the USA and blow up a bunch of nukes, not only will it look fucking amazing, but it'll save the planet;)
Next thing you'll be saying is that everyone isn't allowed an equal vote....which is a great idea!!! (#&!??)

I mean come on, we have all met lots of people that shouldn't be allowed to vote.
