    That is bullshit. CDMA has no issue with packet sizes, and torrent clients don't use small ones (they do bulk transfers, remember?).

    coreboot and linux allow asychronus hardware init, and paralelization. Any ideas on bootstrapping a random OS on pre-initilized bare metal?

    Macros are good, just use the same tokenization as the language, add a little reflection for flexibility and error checking.

    Frequencies are overlapping. And 3G and up standards implement CDMA processing anyway. Unless you are making single band dumb phones with voice+SMS only, there is no price difference, assuming the engineers know what they are doing.

    Java? Fast? Yes. In comparsion with a decent Smalltalk VM? No. Lisp (scheme dialects included) wiped the foor with them.

    Dude, what the hell are you doing with Debian of all things? That's for fire and forget servers. Hell, CentOS is a better choice. Try Arch - nice and fresh packages, great documentation - and I never saw the need to ask anyone anything. Oh, and - hating th CLI and manual transimtions is plain lazy. This is coming from a person who killed half an hour setting up zsh for the autocomplete - I know what lazy is about, but you are just not being efficient at being lazy.

    What the hell are you doing outside your home folder? I love tweaking (as in swapping out schedulers in the kernel, using microarch optimized builds, low level fs utils...). But I always just yaourt -S pkgname and use it. What the hell do I care where it goes?

    Netboot to NFS root with local disk cache. Export different NFS roots with UnionFS deltas for host specific configs. Why don't you fix WINE yourself - it's not like it's hard. ~ (Seriously, flash some cash, the WINE team will deploy whatever fixes you want - but it must be done on an per application basis. Still cheaper than windows, thow it would be easier if RH get behind it.) UTF is application specific - good luck. Windows can't do that, you want linux to?

    Dude, get a thinkpad T or X series, throw FC15, OSUSE with KDE, and live on. If you like simple, I advise Xfce.
