Frequencies are overlapping. And 3G and up standards implement CDMA processing anyway. Unless you are making single band dumb phones with voice+SMS only, there is no price difference, assuming the engineers know what they are doing.
If you are using a factory firmware, you might as well be running WinME. I'm not blaming you, just flash CyanogenMod, and tell me what the results are.
Dude, what the hell are you doing with Debian of all things? That's for fire and forget servers. Hell, CentOS is a better choice. Try Arch - nice and fresh packages, great documentation - and I never saw the need to ask anyone anything. Oh, and - hating th CLI and manual transimtions is plain lazy. This is coming from a person who killed half an hour setting up zsh for the autocomplete - I know what lazy is about, but you are just not being efficient at being lazy.
What the hell are you doing outside your home folder? I love tweaking (as in swapping out schedulers in the kernel, using microarch optimized builds, low level fs utils...). But I always just yaourt -S pkgname and use it. What the hell do I care where it goes? BTW, http://www.pathname.com/fhs/ Knock yourself out.
Netboot to NFS root with local disk cache. Export different NFS roots with UnionFS deltas for host specific configs. Why don't you fix WINE yourself - it's not like it's hard. ~ (Seriously, flash some cash, the WINE team will deploy whatever fixes you want - but it must be done on an per application basis. Still cheaper than windows, thow it would be easier if RH get behind it.) UTF is application specific - good luck. Windows can't do that, you want linux to?
Screen and battery are a major part of the price.
There are frameworks that work around IEs lack of HTML5. The results are slow as molasseses, but they run. With lots o' JS.
Since when does HTC have an App Store?
Or directional antennas and overpowered amplifiers.
Why didn't they implement a virtual iPod driver and leave the lying to the OS?
How about working for Mozilla improving the spec and implementation? I bet a lot of your collegues would be ready to donate.
How about a second SoC layer with lots o capacitance?
That is bullshit. CDMA has no issue with packet sizes, and torrent clients don't use small ones (they do bulk transfers, remember?).
Pot has way too many medicinal uses to be taxed, get ahold of yourself.
I do like automation, even when it's a bot net. It's still a thing of beauty.
My point exactly.
What happened?
coreboot and linux allow asychronus hardware init, and paralelization. Any ideas on bootstrapping a random OS on pre-initilized bare metal?
Macros are good, just use the same tokenization as the language, add a little reflection for flexibility and error checking.

A thousand times this.
Java? Fast? Yes. In comparsion with a decent Smalltalk VM? No. Lisp (scheme dialects included) wiped the foor with them.

xz = LZMA2
Arch Linux FTW!

Set up a local repo.
Dude, get a thinkpad T or X series, throw FC15, OSUSE with KDE, and live on. If you like simple, I advise Xfce.
