Now, when you just sustain the other guy's ideas of distastefulness, without even knowing what the subject or idea, or "acts" as you so eloquently presupposed were...that just proves that you are a know-nothing. Probably a dyed-in-the-wool, red, white and blue blooded American, right? How did I guess? Because I too Sir, am an American and I see this kind of blind grandstanding all the time. In my post I assumed that the "offensive" material was probably child nudity. I could be wrong...but if I am not, why does the sight of a child in the buff have to mean abuse or sex, or whatever? It's all in the viewer's mind and if you get all excited and become a child-molesting maniac, is that the publisher's fault? The photographer (err I'm sorry; pedophile!)? The child for having been without clothes? Or is it your own demented ass? Don't assume that your "honest morals" are the standard by which all literature must be judged! Decency..hahaha...see there you go again...hypocrite. There is nothing indecent, or immoral about a human being unclothed. Because of people like you, people can go to jail for taking photos of their own children in the bathtub! Just think about it before before you get all steamed and flame back calling me, too, a damn evil Pedophile or what have you.

The last time I actively sought to wear a BRAND-NAME was in junior high school: those Powell-Peralta Bones T-shirts were just too cool then. But after the end of that phase (never was a very good skater anyways) I've never really fathomed why someone would pay for the opportunity to advertise for a corp yer not getting any benefit from...anyway its called being an individual and not trying to associate your 'self' or personality with a brand's mystique (for lack of a better term). I do, however think its OK to wear the old or altered brands from the past..thats funny and nostalgic..(if you go into those little wanna-be head shops at malls these days you can find some funny shit like Destro-of G.I. Joe fame T's...and other stuff) anyways, just get functional stuff that you like..dont worry about the brand. Hell, half that shit is identical anyways..two jackets made in the same factory that are identical in every way. One goes to Old Navy and gets priced $17.99. The other goes to Abercrombie & Fitch and is $37.99! stitched labels vary a lot in price i guess!

and I decided to (mostly) drop out....I traded my '$5000 in payments left' vehicle to my brother for his '84 POS truck (hey, it runs!); dumped the cell phone, bank account (I always disliked someone else being in control of MY money), no credit cards, etc... nothing left but the $800 rent (we live in a semi-rural southern California area) that me and my wife split down the middle. And the cable modem of course... And ya know what? I'm loving it! I do some P.C. consulting every once in a while and it pays for my needs. No more worrying about getting ahead; no bills to juggle...just peace....try it!
This should be modded up...this is a perfectly relevant viewpoint; whoever marked it as a TROLL just because it is not a popular opinion should be banned from ever have mod privilidges again.

So using TPM as the main example is rather out of context; ESB would be more appropriate, and GL was not near as sure of an astounding return back then; so yes he was still taking an immense risk using his own money.

His methods are a great blueprint for "how to make art AND money without selling your soul to a huge lumbering corporation....FOX begged him to just receive a few scraps of the distribution revenue. I don't hesitate to support the man for those cojones!
Look. What about those people disabled or too elderly to be very mobile? Perhaps they should get a double vote since they are making even more effort than the average Joe to get to a polling place? As far as the concern over the names of propositions and such, isn't that why there are summaries pro and con?
He has a history of public service (and no not the kind that gets you out of going to the front lines of a war). On the issues that i have heard him speak about, his is the voice that i most trust and side with. The career politicians cannot be believed. Forbes, haha he's no more qualified than Perot was.. Seriously folks, drop all the apathy and disassociation and investigate this guy!
