    That's right. None of this bullshit proprietary code nonsense. We're talking about writing code to tally votes, not send rocket ships into outer space. Someone could have a talented and gifted class of high school kids write source code for a new voting machine and get it done before lunch break.

    Exactly. I remember Dr. Van Allen being summarily bitch-slapped by NASA for suggesting the very same thing. Lots of good PR in manned space flight and the droids couldn't stand anyone running counter to the status quo.

    Only certain questions will be selected and they will probally be ones he already has an answer prepared for.

    He was kept in a bubble from the time he first ran for office. In his re-selection bid rally attendees had to sign an oath of loyalty just to get in to see him. This affair will be very tightly scripted with no time allowed for anything other than softball questions.

    where people in the organization rise to their level of incompetence. Management, no matter how much they pay lip service to the terms open communication and employee empowerment want nothing of the sort. You went straight to the CEO about this, so where was your immediate boss while this was going on? Talking to the man upstairs might make you feel good most likely won't accomplish anything other than causing tensions in the workplace. Use this experience as a valuable lesson for another job. Learn everything you can here. Hell, take on as much responsibility and work with this as much as you can, be a highly valued employee. Don't have anyone trained to do what you can do. Then leave.
