The test that the school board person took was for tenth graders. The sample questions linked are from two entirely different tests. The first three are for fourth graders and the second three are for eighth graders.
Yes it does. I have a a very low traffic blog so I can see the results easily. Doing a search where my posts come up in the first page of results causes each page to register two pageviews in the blogger stats for each one.
Here is the answer to that oft-posed question, "What's a Hokie?" and an explanation of other Tech traditions.
What is a Hokie? The origin of the word "Hokie" has nothing to do with a turkey. It was coined by O. M. Stull (class of 1896), who used it in a spirit yell he wrote for a competition.
Road Runner's AUP varies depending on where you have service. Here in Virginia, there is no restriction on running a server: Morthern Virginia Road Runner AUP
All the say is that you are responsible for securing your services:
Customers are liable for having unsecured services, and would be held liable if unknown 3rd parties utilize these services at any time. It is the customer's responsibility to monitor these services. Examples of unsecured services would be use of SMTP relay, incorrect configuration of Proxy or SOCKS services or unsecured operating systems./BLOCKQUOTE
I only need the a modicum of worship. Two or three times per week, 40 minutes at a time. AOL CDs should be sacrificed in order to keep me pleased. Donations should be cash. US dollars, please.
I'll pass on the dead tree nailing, but thanks for mentioning it.
I'll take your last suggestion under advisement, but deadly weapons will help me vanquish any of our enemies.
Are you being sarcastic? I can't tell, perhaps because it's 4:30 AM. Anyway, we'll assume you're being serious.
Don't be ridiculous. I'm sure that thousands of hours of research and editing go into an encyclopedia such as Britannica. The authors and editors make this effort so you don't have to. What you are paying for is convenience and accuracy.
If you want to take the time to go research everything yourself and not pay Britannica, that's fine. But if you want to find information on a ton of topics that you can count on to be well organized and accurate, go to an established encyclopedia such as Britannica.
An encyclopedia isn't a scientific journal where you go to find newly discovered facts. It's a research tool.
If you log into a lot of boxes having a good command prompt can make a big difference. A different color or having the hostname in the prompt can prevent making a silly mistake.
I'm not sure if your joke has so many layers that it is going over my head, but it seems like it was "Yet Another Evil Corporate Move" and that they're only backing down because they got called out for it.
In which case, we may have jumped to a conclusion, but it was still the right one.
Hard work now could mean less trouble later in life. But it might not.
If I am killing myself working now and get hit by a bus tomorrow, then all that hard work doesn't get me jack.
I've always been a 'plan for the future' kind of guy. Work and save now, enjoy it later. Lately I've really been taking the view that you should take all you can out of life all the time.
I haven't thought about asking my employer for less hours and less salary, but I've been thinking about switching from full time to contracting and just working less, period.

If you had a company with a (possibly) viable business model that involved actually charging the customer, you were screwed unless:
A) NO ONE else had your technolgy/service. Because if they did, they would just give it away. Why pay when I can get it for free?
or
B) You are the Wall Street Journal or eBay.
A company with $20 million in revenue really needs to have about $10 million in the bank in case a customer doesn't pay, the economy turns soft, an important project is late, etc. Because we'd been growing 1000 percent per year we never had more than a couple of million dollars in the bank.
Now we have a soft economy. They wouldn't have had cash. Ergo, problems.

It seems to me that with an ideal search engine it wouldn't require a special skill to get relevant spam-free results.
Disagree completely. I think the ads are quite obvious in that
A) It clearly states it is a 3G coverage map
and
B) There is a sentence on the bottom of the screen that says that voice and data service are available outside the 3G coverage area.
IIRC, the ad says "3G" about 1 brazillion times as well.

Why is it scary that 45% run win98?
Windows 98 is a perfectly good OS for home users. I have two linux boxes in my house that I use for programming, file serving, wireless network, etc.
Guess what the third one runs? Win98.
What kind of features should we add? Other than the obvious: Remove Windows and install something else.

True, but at traffic levels of 1957. There are plenty of places on the interstates where there's just too much traffic to drive safely over 55 or 60.
If you bid "right, left, up, left, right, left, right, sword, sword" you slay the bidder and move on to the next bid.
The only time I've ever made a mistake is the one time I thought I had made a mistake. It turned out that I hadn't. So I was mistaken about that.

You'll find tons of "No-profit" companies there. Some are even open source ones.
But then you say that POS means "Point of Sale". I always thought it meant something else.

The answer of course, is "no".
I won't say here whether or not any of these shows achieve this goal, but that's not really the point.
