    false. The VAST majority of private companies glomed onto it when they saw they could make money. They have been trying to slow its development, and limit it's use every since.

    I was using the internet just fine well before large private companies got involved.

    Hint, this isn't socialism.
    I know its' tough. You would have to go all the way down to the monks, and have them transcribe you a dictionary of terms which could take years. If only all the information was connected together some how..

    or, If only people would actually look up what they are talking about before post, Even better, if people would question themselves about the things they repeat and occasionally look them up to be sure they haven't become mistaken.

    That's wasn't pedantry, it was wrong. Bandwidth has two different meanings.

    There is asymptotic bandwidth, multimedia bandwidth, consumption Bandwidth, capacity bandwidth, and so on.
    Context is important.

    You may not have notices, but in the New America we pay teachers shit, treat them like shit, and want to pay them even worse shit and then complain that teachers are becoming shit.

    There are some amazing learning tools coming out for tablets. I would rather not increase the class size, but use them to personalize teaching.

    It's nice that you think you personal story is some how relevant or even good data, but it isn't.

    OTOH, any one who compares iPad against 'Android', as opposed to specific manufactures that meet a set of criteria, is stupid.

    I have an iPad, but I'm not going to let me think that should carry any weight when discuss mass purchases for a school.

    I also sue a 200 dollar android that has worked great ad server me better then my iPad for a number of reasons. Again, thats no reason to think it counts as data.

    He committed breaking and entering, and he access a computer he DID NOT have authorization to do so.
    Just becasue you can get to a place on the web, does not mean you can go to where the web sited is hosted, break in the back door, and plug in your laptop behind their firewall.

    You seem to know nothing about the case, nothing about his actions. You have the some gall to imply other people are idiots.

    How about you learn the facts about something for talking about them?

    Remember, there was breaking and entering, physical access a computer he was not authorized to access.

    You example would only apply if he sat at home a distributed the files via bit torrent.

    MIT is weaseling becasue they are the ones that kept pushing the DOJ for a harsh punishment when the DOJ want to just drop the case.

    no, he wasn't. Don't confuse 'Maximum penalty possible' for a crime with what the person will get. This is a classic media ploy to make number seems bigger and scarier.

    The DOJ wanted to drop the case, MIT wouldn't allow them. MIT was the victims so it's not like the justice system can choose to ignore the victims.
