The sad thing is that you were able to describe this in just four sentences, yet the mainstream media hasn't mentioned this at all because all they can see is the horse race.
Well, if you mean it about a third option, Gary Johnson was pretty good as governor of New Mexico for eight years, and now he's running for president as a Libertarian. He's probably the best candidate they've ever had.
Government forcing private individuals to purchase something from a private entity simply because they're citizens is Socialist. Ergo, those that propose such policies/legislation are Socialist, despite any labels they may dress themselves in.
That's not socialism, that's corporatism. I don't like either of them, but I recognize there's a big difference. By contrast, the UK's National Health Service is socialist, because the state owns everything and is the sole (or at least overwhelmingly main) provider.
In other words, socialism isn't just the absence of a free market, it's more specific than that. And it's an important distinction, because these days corporatism is at least as large a problem and not enough people are naming it and shaming it.
In one sense, Sony is easier to boycott than GoDaddy. Those of us who had domains with GoDaddy actually had to take action to move them. But with Sony, all it takes is not buying anything else with their logo on it.
The downside is that unlike with GoDaddy, the company won't notice it the same way unless we actively alert them, so in that sense, yes, it's harder.

Next time, use purewhois.com. I do, and that's never happened to me.
I've owned two of them at various points, and I said that every time I thought about how much I wasn't paying for gas. They're not so good for drag racing, though, I'll admit!
Judging by the three hour lines at the gas stations I saw after Hurricane Wilma hit Fort Lauderdale, even people who live in hurricane zones don't think very clearly about this ahead of time.
Fortunately, I had a Geo Metro, and filled its tank the night before Wilma hit. I was fine until everything was back to normal. Beep beep!
I think you're underestimating how poorly off many people in the Western world really are. BMWs and Lexuses are hardly median income transportation, even in Western countries. (That's not meant as a criticism, just an observation.)
The only thing Republicans wanted to fund with Medicare is the prescription drug "benefit", which was entirely their idea and which contains a prohibition against negotiating with drug companies for lower prices. Therefore, it's a giveaway of tax money to large corporations--a Republican specialty. However, do you hear Democrats calling them out on it loud and clear? No? Why not? Everyone needs to start asking questions like that.
That's actually really easy to answer: your assumption that corporatism is a Republican specialty doesn't hold water. The Democrats are just as bad.
Washington State is controlled by Democrats. The majority of both houses of the legislature there are Democrats, as is the current governor and the last two governors before her. I expect, though, that you're too busy hating Republicans to recognize the Democrats are no different.
Fair enough. Then I should have said "mentioned this enough for most people to notice".

Well, except that Sulu is Japanese.
tl;dr

Not presently. Depending on your point of view, we're either conserving it for later or we've progressed beyond it.
+1, Informative

I don't have any mod points, but if you reply with links on how to do this I'll think of you as an informative person.
We do not have "Miranda" rights, no, but we do have all of the rights that Americans would know as Miranda rights, as granted by other legislations.
Ha, but we have indefinite detention without trial now, so we're still ahead! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
This, and you can always pair a public domain dedication with a CC0 waiver. They're two great tastes that taste great together.
Great -- one fewer person in front of me in line for the opening day 12:01am showing of The Hobbit, then.
As I recall, the Conch Republic actually got what they wanted at the conclusion of that war.
To me they will always be Xena and Gabrielle. But then, I still call Pluto a planet. Fuck you, IAU!
