Most of my online poker friends are geeks. Math and left brained types thrive. The learning curve is steep for the first two weeks. After that if you can't make $100 an hour in limit hold'em from any hotel room or your back porch, at least you'll know it. Search for Roy Rounder for beginning help, and read some good books. Poker online is a game, but luck is less important that losers think.
Good luck though. lol
