    If a charger can't provide stable power, it is not ready for normal use. Stop using it. And bad charging port means a cheap trip to the service center. They never replace the entire phone.

    I am not even sure there is a brilliant idea behind OP. At least Xiaomi has a different UI. What does OP have? The same CM that I can download and run on my much superior hardware which I already have?

    I am not even sure there is a brilliant idea behind OP. At least Xiaomi has a different UI. What does Xiaomi have? The same CM that I can download and run on my much superior hardware which I already have?

    By that logic I am even more efficient. I produce zero handsets still I sold my old Nokia last month. So I sold more than the stock I produced.

    One Plus should take lessons from Micromax on how to actually sell your stuff, instead of just creating hype and doing bullshit like invites. Micromax will sell 10 million units if you are ready to buy. Welcome to India, OnePlus, where actually having your phone available for customers to buy is more important than hot air over the internet.

    AOSP is mostly dead now. They have stopped updating even basic apps like messages etc. Anybody who wants to use android without google's apps has to roll their own version of everything.

    We have had these special Whatsapp+Facebook plans in India for years. Nobody uses them. People need a lot more stuff on their phones than these. Also, data use by whatsapp and fb zero is basically negligible. So its not like net neutrality is being heavily subverted or anything. I think its OK. FB zero doesn't even load images.

    So you're going to launch satellites which can find every airliner in the sky with IR over the entire world?

    I would think a few countries must be monitoring for heat signatures all over the world, just to detect ICBM launches. Couldn't those satellites be used to figure out where MH370 went? I think it's just USA playing dumb, and not being helpful just because they just can't be bothered over the lives of other countries' people. They could have tracked the fucking jet in realtime if they wanted to. Or maybe the US government was somehow involved in the disappearance. But that does not make much sense, from the perspective of a motive.

    Effective Java development is near impossible without an IDE managing background compilation for you. Code is fast as hell though.

    Is this some sort of a joke? Java has everything going for it except the execution speed. Show me one program written in Java that runs at acceptable speed on average hardware. Hell, Visual Studio compiled C# runs faster on a Raspberry Pi than Java.

    The only language I have ever seen used in true embedded stuff is C. At max C++. Anything else is fringe, or not really embedded.

    C# is probably the best documented language right now (apart from C/C++). Please pay a visit to MSDN.

    If you actually use a kindle, you will realize that the 4 week claim is quite true. I do not know the fine print etc but I have been using one for several years and it still gives me a nice 3-4 weeks battery. I read about 2-3 hours daily.

    Exactly this. Everyone needs to read up. Ant nests are no less self-conscious than you or I. There is no way to prove or disprove an internal experience of any intelligent entity. So the best thing to do is to focus on the displayed behavior and not try to second-guess the internal "thoughts" of an AI or an ant's nest, because that way lies madness.

    But it did follow the same format Asimov's short stories usually took: Present the 3 laws as the pinnacle of perfection and show how broken they actually are. I loved it.
