'Another tactic which Orwell did not think of is the "protect the children" argument which apparently justifies everything'
I think because he had already opted for the HitlerJugend scenario - doesn't mix well with that.
"Nearly all children nowadays were horrible. What was worst of all was that by means of such organizations as the Spies they were systematically turned into ungovernable little savages, and yet this produced in them no tendency whatever to rebel against the discipline of the Party. On the contrary, they adored the Party and everything connected with it... All their ferocity was turned outwards, against the enemies of the State, against foreigners, traitors, saboteurs, thought-criminals. It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children."
TBH you sound like a fruitcake, talking like that. But the paper is quite interesting. Ever heard of Robin's Theorem, by any chance? Don't see that covered.
As someone already said in the original thread, my hunch would be Benard convection cells as well (same as you can see in boiling water even) maybe also look on '2:1 frequency-locking' and hexagonal patterns observed in standing waves.
Alas, the quote is incorrect - he didn't say 'in 5 years' , he said 'in 2 years'.
Pilobolus Dance Company - must have been a steaming performance.
Meh, just found out the only reason it looked interesting, is because it's a cut-and-paste job of other peoples' abstracts. Get a life.
