OK, shameless plug, but anyways, this is IMHO exactly what these people are looking for...
Unmaintained Free Software is a site which keeps track of unmaintained (or orphaned) Free Software related projects.
It's a central place for people who want to
find out whether a project is unmaintained or not
find a project they can work on
announce that their own project is not maintained anymore and that they search a new maintainer for it
gather some statistical data about why Free Software related projects become unmaintained, how long it takes to find a new maintainer (if at all), etc...
The ultimate goal of the site is to help find a new maintainer for software which is currently unmaintained.
Any comments, questions or other feedback (patches anyone?) is highly welcome...
This list would be more helpful if it stated which programming language is used,
Which it does.
and possibly dependencies as well.
Which it does aswell.
I guess you only viewed the index-page. Click on the "Index-record"-button in the upper-right of the box of the respective application to see the details.
I already had the idea to give maintained apps a different-coloured box or differ between maintained/unmaintained apps some way or the other... But you're right. Maybe they should be moved to some sort of 'Attic', so you still can view them if you really want to, but they aren't shown in the normal index.
Anyone can make a submission. But there should be a note on the previous project page of the package that it is unmaintained. I don't want to accidentally add projects to the site which aren't unmaintained.
Shameless plug: http://www.crazy-hacks.org/wiki/index.php?title=Ho w_I_Feed_My_Cats_with_Linux.
For more crazy projects, you can visit the Crazy Hacks wiki.
Hi, I put a few samples I have created a few years ago on my homepage, maybe you can use some of them... All of them are GPL'ed of course... Uwe.
Hi.
Well, according to this post, it is unmaintained... If you have any more recent information, please update the site.

Because they have already found a new maintainer. All of them started with a status of 'Unmaintained.' when I entered them to the index.
Interesting to note that there is no unmaintained BSD software.. What does that tell us about the BSDL?
Not very much, yet. There's only a small amount of applications in the index, as of now.
