Yes you are very correct. I simply used the phrase echo the intial topic. The peeps at the top will simply being paying less tax to the govt.

More to the point, is there anyone, ANYONE at all who thinks this is a good idea besides the peeps at the top who stand to get more money?

That's not completely true. The government struck down the merger of Echostar and Hughes (DirecTV) in the last few weeks.

    Game Summary
The latest Legend of Zelda adventure begins with young Link living a peaceful life on a tiny island. One day, Link witnesses a huge, menacing bird that snatches Link's younger sister and flies away with her. Link follows in hot pursuit. His search for her sets in motion an epic adventure that will have Link sailing the high seas and searching for answers to the mystery behind her disappearance.

Checking out the game summary I can't help but think that Link is really Fox Mulder.

  5. Re:Several cool Features on PVR For Linux · · Score: 1

Well, it sounds like the what's on next button, will tell you what's on next on all of the channels. Yes, with the guide I can get this information, but I would have to select each channel individually to see what's coming next. With a what's next screen I could easily peruse what's next on all channels and make sure it records whatever I want from the very beginning instead of 3 minutes in. I guess it is the overview that has me excited.

    Just a thought

Looks like they have really thought this one through. There are several really cool features which push the DVR market forward and have been long overdue

    - What's on next? button
    - The ability to create an edited version of a recording
    - Directories to hold recordings
    - How much space is left on my hard drive indicator
    - And I don't even want to get into network functionality.

Note to Tivo, please add these functionalites to the next system upgrade

The SDK is available and the file format is open so feel free to make your own open source version development software. I'd love to see it

How many web-based Flash applications are there besides a few trivial Flash based games?

There are a ton of great full featured web applications out there which function soley in Flash. For example, here is a fully functional online bank USA Banc Shares. There are plenty of ecommerce examples as well.

I don't know enough of the coding details of SVG to say whether any of this is possible with the new format

  12. The electoral college sucks! on Should You Vote? · · Score: 2

I live in a state that is going to vote for Bush whether I like it or not. That means he gets 100% of our electoral votes. The candidates know it too. We haven't gotten a visit from either of them, just their running mates. As a result my vote is best used for Nader. Voting for political change to get us out of this two party system. If Nader gets enough of a percentage of the national vote, the green party will get federal support for the next election. That is a win in my book. Cheers LarryZ

But haven't Dell and IBM announced a very tight partnership, especially in the notebook division. While we know Transmeta didn't say much about OEMs IBM's name came up more than once. It would seem that Dell would sell the Crusoe processor almost defacto, through their cobranded IBM products.
