Did you try the game? It's fun. :-)

Spoken like someone who has never actually touched a real, live breast, let alone kissed one.

Accidentally formatting your hard drive is more fun than this game.

The sad thing is, this will probably win the competition, purely because it's got breasts in it, and most demo coders (at least that I've known) have little to no exposure to women, so playing with virtual breasts is probably the high point of their sex lives.

For starters, do you get FREE review product from the games companies? If so, have you honestly ever given a game a bad review? And we're talking Amiga Power levels of bad here. (Like giving a game 2%).

I won't name the game company which is now deceased which gave me shit, suffice to say everyone who has read the review felt it wasn't that bad. In fact my editor loved it. Then when the company gave him a load of shit, he turned on me, said it was bad etc...

As for micropayments, you never know. I'm far from being the only one that thinks most of the reviewing business is corrupt. The system they're choosing to use guarantees unbiased review.

Basically, if you're GIVEN free product (and my guess is these payments will be used to buy the actual games) or advertise games, you can't be trusted to be entirely honest. Not talking giving crap games good reviews, but maybe giving a higher mark because you want to stay in good with the company.

  5. Re:Why I hate the Game Guides on Are Game Guides Dying? · · Score: 1

A problem with manuals is they overdo EVERYTHING. You can have the simplest game in the world, but by the time you've read the manual you're going to feel you need a PHD to play it. They go overboard.

Of course, some games have cool sundry manuals. Gran Turismo 2 has a handy little guide on proper racing technique. It's a good little read, but you don't have to read it.

I think any game should be easy enough to pick up without any tutorial so you can learn as you go. Of course, there are exceptions to this. I do tend to like massively complex games.

At least someone is trying to make the business more honest. I was a software reviewer until recently, and discovered that you're expected to lie if a game is trash. I didn't, and it cost me my job because the publisher gave my bosses a ton of shit and cut off the supply of review product.

I'd rather be out of work than whore myself to these assholes.

  7. Re:Why I hate the Game Guides on Are Game Guides Dying? · · Score: 5, Interesting

It's just another way to fleece the customers. And the fact is, FAQ's evolve, the printed guides you have to pay $20 for are obsolete by the time you leave the store in many cases.

When I bought Warcraft 3, I bought the strategy guide as well. Mainly because it was on special, and I've always condemned them, but figured it was about time to see if I was correct in my disgust.

And I was. The guide is mostly useless. There's guides to the single player games, stats for all the units etc... The ONLY part of the guide that is any use if the 6 pages devoted to multiplayer strategy. The stats are kind of interesting, but as soon as Blizzard released a patch, it's game over for the stats being useful. Now, with Frozen Throne out, the build times and costs have changed, which means most of the guide is now useless.

On GameFAQ's you can find a wealth of information, and it's fluid. When Blizzard change costs etc... The author can update it.

Game Guides are a horrible idea whose time is coming to an end thankfully. The question remains though as to whether the game companies will do the decent thing and start providing a decent manual, or if they'll just give up and essentially let the fans write the manuals.

If you bought any game in the last few years, think back to how many came with a decent manual. Very few I bet.

GOD that thing is gorgeous! I first saw this hyped a couple of years ago I think and thought how cool it would be. I just bought a nice new shortwave radio which has rejuvenated my waning interest in radio.

That radio is a thing of beauty! I don't care if it's cellular blocked, I WANT IT!

Fact: Cell frequencies do NOT have to be blocked here in Canada, but sadly, since 99% of our scanners come from the US, they're blocked. Not that it really matters. The imaging (when a frequency appears on a different frequency due to the inner working of the unit) you get on most scanners enables you to hear most cellphones anyway.

Never ceases to amaze me that the communications industry has sold everyone on the fact that these things are PHONES, when in reality, they're just radios, and yet people speak like they're secure. I've heard everything from people admitting to embezzeling money, to a woman who was telling her friend about the several members of the Calgary Flames she'd had sex with the previous night.

Oh yeah, and eavesdropping on people and getting their bank numbers and passcodes is dead easy. All you need is a piece of software to decode the DTMF tones.

Chuck in a TV on a scanner and that'll open up a whole new world of fun!

Let's see, Res Evil, Tomb Raider, either you're a troll, or wouldn't know a decent movie if it bit you on the ass since BOTH movies were panned by fans of the games (well, in TR's case those who only went to see Lara's tits were probably not disappointed.) 23. Great idea! on Sell Your Music on iTunes Music Store · · Score: 3, Insightful

It's gonna take a BIG organization outside the RIAA to come up with a system to beat them. iTunes is a great idea, and this new way of selling music is a good idea, though I think $40 is a bit steep. I think they should have an option. You either pay $40 to get the album on there OR they take a higher percentage of the revenue. (Say 15% instead of 9%.)

Regardless, the RIAA have done themselves no favours with their continued insanity, and this iTunes venture comes on the heels of Michael Jackson (he may be a nutter, but he's one of the top grossing artists of all time) saying that going to jail for downloading MP3's is nuts and that the RIAA needs to find a new solution rather than making criminals out of people.

So, anyone care to start an "RIAA Dead Pool". I reckon they'll be dead and gone by 2007.

If you want Keitel, then a Reservoir Dogs game would be cool... Actually, no it wouldn't, especially if you chose to play Tim Roth's character. Just lay there bleeding for the entire game...

The problem with licences fall into two categories:

The Rush Job: Game is rushed to coincide with the movie. See the piss poor "Enter The Matrix" and "Hulk".

Too Old: Then you get a game like the upcoming "Starsky and Hutch". YEAH! A game based on a 25 year old TV series... Only one that can pull that off is Star Trek, and look how great those games are...

What we need is more games to movies. And no, I don't mean shite like Tomb Raider, I mean games with a good narrative. Driver for example would make a GREAT movie. Nice plot, with plenty of scope for exciting car sequences.

Hell, Vice City. Ray Liotta getting to be Tommy in the movie work great!

Back to licences, for every good game (Goldeneye) there are a million awful ones. Not as bad as it used to be. Go back to the Amiga and check out the licenced games there. EVERY SINGLE ONE IS A PLATFORM GAME! ONLY decent licenced games on the Amiga were Blues Brothers (best platform game outside of a console), and Robocop 3, which went somewhat down the first person route, and did a great job too!

Hudson Hawk wasn't bad, but that was a pretty good game based on a bloody awful movie.
