I'm not a kernel hacker, but as users do we want Linus accepting patches from every Tom, Dick and Harry? That couldn't be good for stability in the kernel. I say let AC and these other kernel guru's test out the patches first, then recomend them to Linus. It seems to have worked well in the past.
Linus' tree technically isn't the official tree, it's just Linus' tree. I don't know of any distro's that use the stock Linus tree.. Can anybody correct me on this?
No, to open source the songs, they should release the sheet music, and preferably the project file from whatever recording program they used (Cubase, etc). Also they forgot to include the COPYING and README files with the license!;-)

Mercury is very toxic.. I wouldn't like to see it used on a device such as this which has such a short life span (2 years or so?). There's a lot of talk going on now about banning mercury in automotive applications (mercury is used in switches, such as the ones that turn on a light when you open the hood).
Yes, and you have to be very careful with this technology, if the cable gets broken and the ring falls out they can be tough to find. The tend to roll under desks and stuff. And don't sniff the Ether, that's also bad.
Yes, most get their IP via DHCP, but most DHCP servers keep track of MAC addresses and will reasign the same IP to a given MAC address every time. I've had the same IP address for 3 years on my cable modem, which uses DHCP.
If you don't like what they are doing, fortunately there are dozens of other distros out there and surely one is right for you. Everyone wins.
Exactly. Check out Distro Watch for a list of the best distributions. They even have the packages that are included in each, as well as pros and cons, and reviews.
Knoppix is a great idea, but it requires a lot of memory or else a hard drive with a swap partition, and the article mentioned older PC's. As long as there is swap, it will detect it automatically and start using it. FYI, Distrowatch is now tracking this distro: knoppix
The point is in Windows you don't even have to RTFM. I like Linux a lot but ReadingTheFuckingManual isn't what I want to do all day just so that I know how and can go and tell people that it's only hard because they don't.
Well, to each his own. I don't like troubleshooting obscure problems with Windows that often aren't documented, or take months to be fixed by MS. I find it embarasing when users ask me to fix some broken behaviour in Windows and all you can tell them is maybe it'll be fixed int the next version. Linux might take a deeper understanding of computing, but once it's set up properly it works much better than anything from MS.
Where do they come up with these headlines??!! ;-)

It's the new paradigm ... Trolling will be rewarded.
...With all the grammar and spelling mistakes in tact!
It is a well known, proven fact that 47% of all hand lotion is used for masturbation.
At least not with Scottish Catholic bitches... Which isn't all bad! ;-)
I thought they were grown similar to genetically modified tomatos?
It's also a lot of Frames Per Second in Quake!

The last thing they need in Oz is a gang of militant Macfags!!
Generation X++?
Maybe generation 2K? Or better yet, maybe a hexadecimal notation is in order! ... I'm from generation 0x08FA. Cool!

Maybe he just got it wrong..
A dead gamer in the bathroom, oh my!!
Step 4 Profit!
I have oral arguments with my wife all the time .. well, actually, it's more like arguments about oral, but you know what I mean.

There's the oxymoron of the day: "Save as you spend". Wow.
