  1. to be more precise on Clever Girl Bess · · Score: 1

Statistically kids are in no danger on the Net. Their greatest source of harm comes from physical abuse from family members and people they know,

Actually, by far the most common abuser is the mother's boyfriend. Not popular to say in these PC times, though.

How about just regular power sources?

  4. irregularities? on Statistics, Elections, Frustration · · Score: 1

Um, I think we all know who the 'irregular vote' goes to.

    • The 'vote early, vote often' crowd wasn't voting for Bush.
    • Those dead people in Chicago weren't voting for Harry Browne.
    • If the single paper you have in order is your ballot, you're single issue isn't a tax cut.
  5. Amazing, just amazing on More Candidate Answers - Bush and Hagelin · · Score: 1

The uniformity of opinion astounds me; the words all sound canned and scripted.

No, not Bush's words, most of the posters'!

  6. Neither candidate 'gets' tech, but Bush safer on Politics, Assassination, and Debates · · Score: 1

I don't think either Gore or Bush 'gets' tech issues, so we need to ask, what are their philosophies? Is their first impulse to regulate, to place under government control, to 'fund' (and we all know what happens to government funded institutions, they get controlled). Think of it that way, and the choice is clear.

  7. Fools at work on Politics, Assassination, and Debates · · Score: 1

I love ./, but what can I call all this pro-Gore nonsense but "Fools at work"?

Gore lies. A lot. In such ways as to shore up his self esteem, claim he did things he did not, is things he is not, and was places he was not.

All these attempts to excuse him just don't add up.

He is supposedly a "tech genius", but shucks, that disappearing email, that's technical stuff, he doesn't know anything about that.

He doesn't know, supposedly, that a fundraiser is a fundraiser, that a Buddhist temple is a Buddhist temple, that monks with vows of poverty can't possibly be the real source of the contributions.

He drank a lot of iced tea, you know, so he was out of the room when anything illegal was discussed.

Listen up, Katz and his followers....

Gore voted to spend some tax money on the (already established) arpanet. He thinks that means he "took the initiative in creating" it!

You are in for a big surprise if he wins. Gore wants to regulate everything in sight; health care, political speech (except his own ;), the Internet (digital divide? "accesibility"?), etc.

I'll laugh if he wins when I see the looks on your faces as he regulates the hell out of the Internet. But it will be a costly laugh.

  10. Gore not Internet's friend on Uncensored Media Considered Harmless · · Score: 1

You posters who think Gore is a friend of the Internet and freedom are going to be in for a big surprise if he wins...

Gore wants government control of all things: health care, education, Internet, etc. He thinks he invented the Internet because he voted to spend some money on it. He thinks letting people keep more of their own money (tax cuts) is "spending".

This is a scary guy, and no friend of freedom, Internet or otherwise.
