    If your manager pulls you in to cover a crisis, you need to demand flex time (a different day off next week) or overtime.

    Or, send them an invoice from your consulting firm for about six times whatever your daily rate is.

    Teach 'em how to use the computers in K-12. Let them worry about CS later.

    CS is not for everybody, and it really shouldn't be taught as CS until 10th grade at the earliest.

    On the other hand, methodical problem solving is a skill that everyone can use, so let's teach that as a basic framework for everyone.

    American schools aren't meant to make geniuses - they're meant to make obedient factory workers.

    And, I believe the modern term is "eminent domain" or "expropriation", depending on whereabouts you happen to be standing.

    Sure, you can find a job without a degree. It'll take you longer, you'll have to do garbage-work more often, your pay scale will be lower, and about 4 years into the job when you've got real-world experience comparable to what you'd have gotten in getting the degree, they'll replace you with someone who has a degree, and you still won't have a degree. TLDR: you want fries with that?
