  1. Re:Hang on... on Teen Sues MySpace Over Sexual Assault · · Score: 1

A hint to the lawyer from MySpace!

    1. The parents is using the Internet unsupervised. This is an identifyed problem that every School has been sending the message, in many ways, for a parent to watch their childrens use of the Internet. All the parents have to do is turn on the TV or read the newspaper!

    2. The child missrepresented her age, voiding the MySpace contract. I bet she did the same thing with her AIM, MSN, Yahoo and e-mail accounts.

    3. The parents allowed a minor child to enter into that contract? Did the parents miss something?

    4. The parents did not ask where the child was going? Did the child tell friends about this?

5 Also, it sound like the child should be removed from the home do to lack of adult supervision.

PARENTS TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR INTERNET USE BEFORE IT IS A PROBLEM!

  2. Class Action Suite via /. on Another Millionaire Spammer Story · · Score: 2, Interesting

Ok, here is an idea. How about a class action suite against this guy from the /. community.

    - If he is sending out 650,000 messages every hour that is 15.6 million a day.
    - There are about 15 million readers of /. Which means we get on average one e-mail from this guy a day.
    - We spend about 30 seconds a day to delete this trash. That's about 125,000 hours a day between all the members of /.
    - At an average rate of $50 per hour that's $6,250,000 of our time per day. 365 days that's $2.2 billion is wasted time.

Now if I did my numbers right, even with the Lawyers fees, we could all end up with a small payday. What do you think? Any takers?

Add to that the issue of "bugging" the e-mail. From what I understand, this may be considered an "illegal wiretap". Bugging 117,000 people a day. Sounds like the FBI would be interested in this.

  3. Marketing Bull on Nokia calls Wireless Warchalkers 'Thieves' · · Score: 1

This must be a marketing piece. Notice there are no names of Nokia staff are and only one Nokia reference. They must be selling a new product. Sounds like Mr. James Middleton has just reproduced a Nokia company press releases and label it as News. And you wonder why we don't trust the press :-).

Now let's address the real issues in this article, theft of services. The theft is the result of companies are not practicing due care for their wireless networks. And as always, it's easer to blame a "Hacker" then take responsibility for your actions.

If I put an Ethernet cable out the windows and connect it to my network. Someone uses the Ethernet cable and labels it as an Ethernet cable. You are telling me that the villain the person who use my Ethernet and labeled it. No, it is me, for being stupid enough to put the Ethernet out the window.
