publicly traded companies. mergers. plenty of that. now, get some non-retarded shareholders. Trust me, it'll be easier than getting non-retarded government officials.
An internet connection is a pipe to the open internet, nothing more, nothing less. You are paying for the following bandwidth at the following conditions, and that's that. They can't tell you what to do with what you bought. How'd you feel if the electricity company bans running a computer load higher than 500 W. Besides being a geek, I can't think of any reason to run more than 500 W worth of computers.
IOW, we need something like a registry, and a smart self-extracting installer system, only correctly implemented. For compatibility reasons, you'd have to recompile or otherwise give library and interface flexibility, because distros will never agree on those, that's why they exist. Possibly LLVM IR in a Mach-O-like format, with alternative linking option (i.e., the same binary can use both Qt and Gtk libs OOTB) will replace messy, time consuming from-source compilation. Face it, optimization and linking are the only reasons for an end-user to compile anything.
Hallelujah! I though nobody would reach to my conclusion. Please watch Zeitgeist in order to get things cleared up.

Are you implying that there are better "pop-bands" around?
BTW, sorry for posting from a secondary account, I exceeded the 25 posts / 24 hours limit.

Where the hell did you see http in "ftp.mozilla.org"
Which is what torrent client authors do as well, maybe they should sue them as well...
